Thank You

A moment of forgiveness

"You'll get this parcle to my daughter won't you? " the woman asked gently. Cloud gave her a small reassuring smile as he took the package from her.

"Of course, ma'am, not a problem," he told her with a nod. The woman smiled back at him and looked out toward the wastes beyond Edge.

"She lives out near the Chocobo Ranch, that won't be a problem, will it?" She sounded worried. Cloud wondered if she'd had problems getting things out to her daughter before.

"Not a problem at all, ma'am, I'll get this to her today," with those words Cloud headed out.

The first thing Cloud noticed was the abundance of flowers around the small farmhouse, the second was the young woman standing precariously on a wobbly wooden stool as she watered some hanging plants.

It was surreal, but obviously not the person he was so reminded of. This woman's hair was the same colour as his own, though it was braided messily and the dress she wore pale green.

This was not Her.

Cloud watched as the oblivious young woman stretched up on her toes, trying to reach a plant that had obviously been hung far too high for her. The stool wobbled again as she steadied herself on the hanging plant with one hand, her other holding a red watering can. He watched one foot leave the stool as she tried to reach higher and get a better angle for the water to get all of the plants in the box. Cloud could see the disaster coming, the stool wobbled again.

The young woman yelped as she lost her balance, the planter offering no real aid as it swung away as she tried in vain to right herself. Cloud moved without thinking, scooping her up before she could hit the ground.

The next thing he knew he was staring into a pair of rather surprised deep blue eyes as they peered into his own. Then there was a soft smile and;

"Thank you, you saved me,"

AN: Just a little one shot to pass the time. It's a bit vague I know, but that's the point really.

Hope someone put there likes this tiny little thingy, if not, ah well. I might fill it out and turn it into a chaptered story one day, but only if there's interest.

Until next time,
