Regina had an awful day. She was forced to spend her morning with Charmings, trying to find out why would the Wicked Witch need Snow White and Prince Charming's baby, then she was put on a mission with Captain Guyliner and Emma to look over all the magic books in the library and Regina's vault to see what spells require a baby (and a heart).
Thankfully the bookworm showed up in the library (Regina has never been so happy to see her )and decided to free Regina from the prison that was Emma and Hook's company and took Regina's place in the search party.
And then Regina spent the rest of the day in her vault, taking book after book and finding nothing useful. After hours of searching, she felt like giving up so she just stood up and walked out of the vault leaving a huge mess after herself. She'll find time to put everything into places another time.
She barely makes it home, her eyelids too heavy, her hands shaking from tiredness, her stomach growling from lack of food. Thankfully she doesn't fall on her way, reaches the home safely.
However, when she reaches the front door, all her tiredness disappear. She finds the door unlocked and when she turns the knob, it opens a little. She immediately lifts up her hand and lets a fireball form as she steps further into the house, ready to find the intruder.
Instead of an intruder she finds a very anxious Robin standing in the hallway.
Her hand drops to her side as she sighs in relief.
"Robin!" Regina exclaims, turning on the lights. Her eyes narrow at the brightness of the room but she fights to keep her eyes open and look at him, "You scared me to much! What are you doing here?"
"I'm sorry, milady," he tells her sheepishly and takes a step closer to her. "I wanted to surprise you."
Regina smiles at him, feels warmth filling her heart. It's been only two weeks since she kissed him in the woods and since then they were forming some kind of a relationship. And Robin, a former thief, an outlaw, turned out to be a completely romantic.
They hadn't spent a lot of time together, only a few moments here and there but every time he made her feel so happy and light. That romantic little date he prepared just for her one night or kissing behind Snow White's doors made Regina feel things she didn't feel in a really long time.
"And you did surprise me," Regina admits, her face turning serious. "Never do that again," she tells him and puts her hand over her empty chest where should be her now rapidly beating heart.
He nods his head but when Regina walks closer to him, he looks rather nervous, keeps glancing somewhere. Confused, she asks, "Is everything alright, Robin?"
He looks at her for a moment, thinking about something. All of a sudden his face turns serious and he takes her hand in his, "Let me show you something."
Regina arches an eyebrow but follows him anyway. They make their way up the stairs and turn towards Regina's bedroom and her surprise turns into confusion as he opens the door of her room.
He turns around and starts nervously, "I'm sorry I didn't want to cause you any problem but this thing is wicked and I had to take care of it."
Regina frowns. "What?"
"I just-"
She rolls her eyes at him not being able to listen to him stutter like that and walks straight into the room. There's a bouquet of wildflowers on her bed and she feels her pulse quickening as she turns around to face Robin. And then she sees it.
"What on earth did the poor TV do to you?!" She gasps in shock as she finds her TV with tons of arrows sticking out of it. She glares at Robin who's standing in the doorway, looking at her sheepishly.
"I killed the monster," he tells her, his voice defending.
"What?" she asks as she stares at him in disbelief. He looks so confused, like a lost puppy and Regina cannot help it anymore, she starts laughing.
Robin immediately looks up at her, his confusion turning into shock at such reaction! He killed the monster in order to protect her and she's laughing at him! That's what you get when you try to help the Queen, he thinks, crossing his arms over his chest.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Regina gasps out as her eyes become teary, her hand falling to her stomach. She doesn't remember the last time she laughed this much. When she finally looks at him and finds him staring at her seriously, she forces herself to calm down. "Tell me what happened," she asks and chuckles quietly, not managing to keep it inside.
Robin glares at her and when she finally makes a serious face and stops laughing, he tells her, "As I said before, I wanted to surprise. I broke into your house-"
"You broke into my house?!"
"Yeah, and gave myself a tour, found your bedroom. I intended to put the flowers on your bed and leave but when I walked into the room, this damned thing was talking!" he exclaims, his arms falling to his sides. "And I didn't know how dangerous it was so I shoot arrows at it until it died," he finishes his tale and as soon as he closes his mouth, Regina starts laughing again.
"It's not a monster, Robin," she tells him, still laughing. "It's a TV."
"A what?"
"Nevermind. Let me show you," she tells him and takes his hand. She drags him downstairs to the living room, makes him sit down on the couch beside her and turns on a TV. Robin looks at her doubting.
"It shows you things like movies or TV series." When Robin looks at her confused, she adds. "It's like reading a book but instead of reading you have to watch and listen," she tries to explain and Robin's eyes turn wide as he states at TV screen.
She grins at him and rests her head against his shoulder and Robin blindly wraps his arm around her, not being able to move his eyes away from the TV screen. She teaches him to switch channels and turn the volume up and down and watches as he tries to figure out this magical thing.
With her head on his shoulder, she starts to feel the weight of this day and her eyelids go heavy again. She doesn't try to fight it anymore, lets herself fall asleep in the arms of the man who is supposed to be her soulmate.
"By the way, thank you for the flowers, they're lovely," it's the last thing she says before falling into a peaceful and dreamless sleep with enchanted Robin staring at the TV screen.
It turns out it's the best sleep she had in a very long time.
