Luke felt a tap on his shoulder and jumped a bit. He looked up to find warm brown eyes meeting his own.

"Yes.. How may I help you?" He asked politely to the stranger, closing the book he was reading.

"Sorry did I scare you? I just saw you looked lonely sitting on this bench by yourself and well.. it is a great day!" He rambled brushing blonde hair away from his freckled face.

"Oh! U-um well I-"Luke flustered fidgeting with his hands. "I would like that!" He grinned putting the book in his bag getting up from his seat.

The stranger pulled him along quickly through the park to a big tree.

"You see this? It's the best climbing tree in the entire park!" The strange boy said with awe laced in his voice.

"Climbing?" Luke squeaked. But the boy didn't seem to hear him and started climbing the tree. When he got to a high branch he waved down sticking out his tongue playfully.

"Come on! It's fun!" The green haired boy took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and started to climb. When he finally got to the big branch the stranger was sitting on he opened them cautiously.

Woah! He could see everything from here!" So.. why were you by yourself anyways?"

"Duncan was supposed to be watching me. But he kinda left me alone. "Luke shrugged. It didn't matter the house was a block away, he could walk. "Say.. what's your name?"

"Kevin!" The boy smiled toothily. "What's yours?

"Luke!" He grinned just as wide showing his buck teeth. He had made a friend.. without help! A proud warm feeling rushed its way through his body. Until he decided to look down and his face went pale and wide eyed. "U-uh Kevin can we get down? I don't think heights are my thing.." He gulped holding on to the others arm.

Kevin nodded and started to help him climb down the tree, when they got to the ground another idea flew into the blond boy's head. What if they went over to where his cousin was?! He was sure Victor would love to meet his new friend! " Luke! Wanna meet my cousin?" He bounced excitedly.

Luke held on as he lead them out of the park to a repair shop. It was brick with a bright painted sign that had a train on it. Inside was a man with cropped hair moving boxes from the back. The green haired boy recognized him at once. "Mr. Victor?"

Victor turned around and grinned " Luke my friend, you've finally paid a visit. And I See you've met Kevin."

"Yep!" he piped up before Luke could say anything. "I work here during the summer sometimes! You should try mechanics, it's fun!"

The door opened and a dirty blond haired teenager ran in hickies all over his neck. "Victor! Hae ye seen Luke?! Peter sam's gonnae.. Kill..me." While Victor and Kevin chuckled at his rumpled appearance, Luke turned to look at him confused.

"Why would Peter sam kill you? He doesn't seem like one to harm others?" Duncan sighed in relief. He wouldn't get his neck rung out after all.

"Dinna fash yirsel.." He smirked leaning against the door apparently having recovered from the incident though a light flush still dusted his cheeks. "Say goodbye tae yer friends 'n' we'll heid home."

"Bye Kevin! Bye !" He waved following his blond haired caretaker out the small shop.
