Klaus let the bitter liquid seep over his tongue before swallowing. He didn't get how mortals could be so influenced by whiskey, to the most powerful vampire, aka himself; it only made him slightly dizzy.
"Nicklaus," Rebekah's voice ripped through him like a xylophone.
"What is it this time?" He wondered as the tall blonde sashayed into the parlor.
"I have yet to see a certain love sick vampire come rushing into my arms…I thought you said this spell would work!" Rebekah stamped her foot so hard that a split appeared in the hardwood floor.
"I said you have to give it time! You can't rush these things…and don't break the hardwood, please." Klaus downed what was left of his glass. "If you smart enough to see what was in front of you you'd realize that Caroline isn't here either."
"Oh, because we all have to drop what we are doing to appease you, dear brother…" Rebekah sneered as she sat down on an overstuffed love seat.
Klaus sighed and ran a hand through his short brown hair. He could feel the air hum around him with energy…something was trying to mess with him, and he had to figure out what.
"I'll be back," he growled as he stalked out the door.
"I won't wait up…" Rebekah called.
Stefan stared at Elena…he'd done it a few thousand times but he couldn't get used to how much she'd changed. There was definitely something different about her, something he didn't like…was it her obsession over Damon? Or…could it be that he just didn't see her as the goddess she used to be?
"Bonnie…I don't know what he did, but we have to figure this out." Elena pleaded as the young witch handed her a hot cup of tea. Outside the stinging autumn air whistled as almost bare branches banged against the windows of the Salvatore Boarding House.
Bonnie still looked slightly pale, but she persevered and tried to make Elena feel better first. Jeremy sat at the very edge of the couch, his head in his hands, trying to figure out what had happened.
"So, Klaus put some kind of spell on the whole town that does who-knows-what? Will that guy ever quit?" Jeremy sighed and laid back against the couch, he glanced at Stefan for help.
Stefan's mind was working a mile a minute, he couldn't think straight for some reason…all he kept thinking about was Rebekah…she was so beautiful, she was a goddess.
Stefan stood and tried to shake off this feeling, it wasn't natural…he'd never felt that way about anybody…except…no, no, he wouldn't let himself wander back down that path.
"Stefan?" Elena's voice came back to him dimly.
"I'll be right back…" he murmured. He walked past them and out into the cool air once more, he needed to get to the bottom of this.
Snow…the first snow of the season glistened on her skin. Caroline marveled at the phenomenon as she stood at the crest of the hill. "Come on, what are you waiting for?" She called.
Damon scrambled over the hill and caught up with her just as the snow began to fall. He caught her by the waist and they fell upon the browned leaves in a fit of laughter.
"You're so fast…curse your vampire instincts." Damon laughed as he kissed her on the lips passionately.
Caroline laid back and smiled, her life was perfect.
