The Hunger Games: Survival
One sunny day, Katniss, Peeta, and Haymitch, walked to the woods of district 13. Behind them ran 2 small kids, a boy and a girl. The boy's name was Brian, and the girl's name was Prim. Prim, a 10 year old caring girl filled with courage, and Brian a 13 year old, sweet and brave quickly ran following their mom and dad with their courageous friend Haymitch. Deep in the woods a greenish light illuminated everyone's faces. The green woods, calm and cool made a noise whenever a buck ran or a squirrel scattered.
Katniss took a bow and aimed. "Nice shot" said Haymitch, just as Katniss picked up the squirrel. Just then came Brian and Prim, "what happened?" "You're mom just shot a squirrel in the eye." Katniss gave Prim and Brian each a bow and taught them the basics, while Haymitch and Peeta made a fire. The kids learnt fast and soon shot squirrels. Later they gave them to Peeta and Haymitch to cook. They set up a tent and ate inside it. They got tired and went to sleep.
The next day they went hunting deep in the forest. Haymitch used a knife, Peeta collected berries, and the rest used a bow and arrows. Later they set up camp and had breakfast. Afterwards they started hunting again. "Aaaaaaaaah" shouted Prim. There right in front of her was a snarling wolf. "Aaaaaaaaaaaaah" she yelled at the top of her lungs. Then in an instant there stuck in the eye, an arrow which had pierced the wolves' eye. They all stood amazed except for Brian who stood with the bow looking in the direction the wolf's eye would have been. They started hunting again, a pride aroused in Brian's heart, he had just saved his sister from getting bitten or shredded to pieces.
The next day they woke up early and went to hunt. Then they split up, Peeta and Haymitch went one direction and Katniss and the kids went to the other. After a while Peeta noticed a gorgeous flower and decided to take it for Katniss, suddenly in the blink of an eye a wolf came out of the bushes snarling. He charged at Peeta but there in front of Peeta was Haymitch. Haymitch stabbed the wolf but that just made it angrier. He told Peeta to run and call Katniss. As Peeta ran he heard a moan. He sprinted and found Katniss he told her about Haymitch and the four of them went to rescue him. When they reached there, in front of them stood Haymitch's dead body. "No!" cried Katniss who remembered the Haymitch who would sometimes make her laugh or sometimes even make her want to kill him. She remembered the Haymitch who would drink and have to get taken care of. They went back and set up camp and ate. They mourned at Haymitch's death. "It's all my fault I should have protected him," shouted Peeta after the children entered then tent and slept, " I should have," he started crying.
The next day they kept camp and went hunting when they came back their tents were torn. "Darn it, wasn't killing Haymitch enough for you, now you've shredded our tent to "shouted Katniss. " It's okay" said Peeta to Katniss, "we'll get a new tent. Peeta went to get a new tent from their house. Ten minutes passed but Peeta had not returned. Katniss said "wait here I'll come back". The kids turned around and stared into the deep woods. "Kaboom!" They turned around and saw the district in flames. "What will we do now?" . "We find district Twelve".
