Seven Mimes

Summary:
Singing, rows, seven mimes and a box. Random words strung into a random story.

Seven Mimes

Lily had just gotten into a row with James about his constant singing of his own son, 'Lily, You're More Than a Flower'. He had been singing loudly in the Gryffindor showers. He even had a music arrangement with the other three Marauders, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew, all whom sang in harmony or descant. The quartet particularly like humming at mealtimes.

It was actually amazing at the sound the four of them made. It was a beautiful soft song that was quickly caught on by the rest of the school, driving Lily Evans up the wall.

After a full five minutes of glaring, Lily sighed and dropped her gaze, while she was still bubbling inside. She turned around to leave, deciding not to be on speaking terms with James when a hand caught her wrist. She flung around to Kames' face, who was wearing a soft but cheeky grin.

He put his fist to his chest, then wrapped his arms around himself, and pointed at Lily.

Lily was caught by surprise, but kept her promise. She mimed back

She pointed at herself, then lifted her knee sharply. She pointed to James and pretended to cringe, shielding a part in between her legs, and stood up abruptly, her facial expression: unreadable.

James' smile widened. He pointed at himself and held his hands in the air and waltzed around, then pointed at Lily.

Lily's eyes narrowed. She jabbed her thumb at her chest and pretended to push and invisible someone, and pointed at James.

James grinned cheekily. He pointed at himself, closed his eyes and kissed the air. He opened his eyes again and pointed at Lily.

The train shuddered but Lily's stance was not bothered. She pointed at herself again, and with her hand, slapped the air, as if someone was standing right in front of her, about James' height. She pointed at James.

The cheeky face turned soft. He dropped down, one knee was propped up. He gently took Lily's hand and kissed it. His free hand reached inside his robes and pulled out a small red box. He dropped Lily's hand and opened the box.

Inside was a diamond ring.

A/N

Yes, I know, terribly short and puking-ly fluffy.

Okay, if you must know, I have writer's block and I am not allowed on the computer, because apprently I go on it too much. Which is probably true. So, I have resorted to writing random one-shots in my book. I'm really sorry. I'll try and keep writing the other novel (hey hey! It's going to be a novel length! Nota short novella!) that I've started (I know it's in my room somewhere ...)

I'm also really busy with coaching and stuff. It's to prepare me for that hrd life of year nine ... sigh ... i'm that old already ... Argh! School Certificate next year! I'm not ready for it! School Certificate is like OWLs. And it's still another twenty or so months away and already I'm nervous ... Sooner or later it's the Higher School Certificate (Which is like NEWTs), and then we'll all get booted out of home to go and die painfully on our own in the cold hard world ... I make this sound so bad...

Anyway, hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I couldn't be bothered to stay up until twelve. I just went to bed ... Wasn't anything else more interesting...oh well, happy new year!

p.s. Yes! Twenty more days until the boring hot summer holidays end, and we can go back to school...
