Naruto flew through the trees, following the slight trail that Sasuke had left. "So stupid. So stupid, that damn Teme! He could have at least tried to hide the fact that he was going to leave us, 'ttebayo!" He growled to no one in particular.
He'd left the village without telling Kakashi-sensei, so he wanted to look as much as he could before he was missed. His eyes widened as he began to feel Sasuke's chakra straight ahead. He dropped down from the trees and started to walk forward cautiously.
"Naruto."
He whipped around as he heard his name called and was staring straight into the Sharingan of Sasuke Uchiha.
"Teme, what're you-" Naruto began, only to be cut off by him as he placed a hand over his mouth.
"I'm glad it was you that came after me. There's something I need to find out." He slid his hand from Naruto's mouth onto his cheek.
Naruto slapped his hand away and glared at him. "What is wrong with you, 'ttebayo?!" He glared at the raven-haired boy.
A strange grin graced Sasuke's face, but not the sarcastic ones he was used to. It was softer, gentler. He felt his muscles relax as he made his way over to him.
"Usuratonkachi. I think ..." He trailed off and placed his hand back on Naruto's cheek. "Well, I suppose I can show you better than I can tell you."
Sasuke leaned forward quickly pressed his lips against Naruto's before he could even respond or react. He felt himself stiffen, but he quickly melted into the kiss. His heart sped up and he felt Sasuke place a hand on his chest before grabbing his shoulders roughly. He moaned and his eyes widened.
Sasuke broke the kiss and grinned. "I think I was right. It was you that lead me astray, I was running from you, after all. Now I just need to .. understand what that means. Why this has happened to me."
Naruto zipped his bright orange jacket back up as he walked through the village gate. Kakashi-sensei was waiting for him there, with Sakura beside him.
"Where have you been, dobe?" She began to yell, but he shushed her.
"I'm done searching for Sasuke. I've done everything I could ever hope to do to convince him. He's just gone astray. He has to work it out himself, just like I do, 'ttebayo." Naruto grumbled, lowering his gaze.
Sakura frowned at his dismissal of her. Kakashi turned to her, noticing Naruto's flushed face and sweat. "He's right. There is nothing either you or I can do."
