Call Me, Maybe: Version 2
Author's Disclaimer: No, I do not own Labyrinth or Call Me Maybe. All rights go to their respective owners. I am taking part in an art improvement contest, and I chose to revise the first songfic/parody I did, called Call Me Maybe. The premise: Sarah goes to a Valentine's Day masquerade, where she flirts with a mysterious stranger. We can all guess who that actually is. Small note: a "~" means that a new stanza starts. Enjoy!

~Milling about in the hall,
Awkward pink hearts on each wall.
At the Valentine's Day ball
I feel real out of place.
~No white gown worn out tonight,
But with a mask I just might
Find "him" in the candlelight.
But I feel out of place.
~Dancers acted dead.
Saxophone reared its head,
Blonde hair, show-off in red:
There's a stranger to dance with me!
~I wish like a fool
That he'll turn and see,
And when he's finished,
He's winking, baby!
~There are so many girls
'Cause he looks free,
But he goes past them
And comes right to me.
~He smiles, and we start to talk,
Losing all track of the clock
As we keep laughing and rock,
And now I've found my place.
~I disappear in a blink,
And I give him a wink.
He smiles shrewdly and comes to me,
So I move my place.
~Dancers acting dead,
Sax player shows his head,
Blonde hair, sexy in red,
Now he wants to waltz around me!
~I hope like a fool
That he'll waltz with me,
And when he comes back,
He's grinning at me.
It's easy to dance with you, baby,
I'm glad you came back
And want me badly.
~You sing so sweet into my ear
With me in your arms,
Held close in your arms,
With me close in your arms.
~You sing something familiar
With me in your arms,
And I do love that,
Being held in your arms.
It's easy to waltz with you, baby.
We should meet later,
So call me maybe.
~I smile like a fool
As he answers me,
And when he unmasks,
It's Jareth I see!
~You laugh, delighted, at my face,
And tell me gladly
You'll date me proudly,
Then kiss me finally.
~Your laugh and smile mirror my face,
And we kiss madly.
And I do love that.
I love you maybe.
~(Now all the other boys
Run away from me,
Because I have Jareth,
Who is far more manly.)

Author's Notes: Happy Valentine's Day! I am much more satisfied with this version, keeping only the very last stanza in its entirety. The first version was more of a cross between the two genres, making me dissatisfied with it, hence why it was chosen. As someone put it, it needed more changes to the original words. Same rhyme scheme of Call Me Maybe, and premise of Sarah going to a Valentine's Day masquerade. Sarah had a good time, and I hope you did, too! :D Thanks for reading and commenting!
