Phantom of the Opera; Act 1, Scene 11
A/N: Hey guys! Was going through some stuff and found this. I wrote it in eighth grade for an assignment. Don't remember is it was to write what we thought might happen in this scene, or re-write it... I'ma gonna go with the first. Haven't made any edits to it since eighth grade. Please don't judge too harshly, as this was eighth grade. Anyway, enjoy!
The ear splittingg sound of millions of glass shads breaking filled the opera house. People were screaming, panicking, fleeing with their loved ones to escape. None of this compared to the scene on the stage though.
The glass was tinted crimson. An explosion of blood painted the floor. At the center of it all, was the glass chandelier. While everyone fled, no one cared to look, except the girl who saw it happen.
Meg Giry approached the chandelier slowly with her mouth agape. She fell to her knees in a puddle of red, the screams of those around not reaching her. Underneath the once magnificent chandelier, was a young couple holding each other in their arms.
If one took a closer look, they would find that the interlocking hands belonged to the young Christine Diane and her lover Raoul. Meg let out a sob as she placed her head in her hands, the phantom looking on mournfully.
He hadn't meant to kill her, his one true love. None of that mattered now though. Christine had made her choice. She chose Raoul over him. Maybe he didn't have any regrets, maybe he did. He was unsure. With a blink he was gone, leaving the sobbing girl, havoc, and love behind. Yes, he has no regrets. It was her decision and hers alone. She had chosen wrong though.
Meg continued sobbing over her two departed friends. She found little comfort in knowing that now they would be inseperable in Heaven. All she could focus on was the two bodies eternally in each others' arms, bleeding the color of their affection. The blood intermingled and became one. They were together now, then, and always.
