The Things I Do For You

This is something I uploaded before the Great Computer Crash. So it no longer exists on my computer. I just want to publish some of these before I forget all about them. Hope you like it.

It all started the day he came home and she was laying on the couch, slugging down chocolate milk with chips and watching Full House reruns. She had a bottle of asprin next to her on the table, and she was wearing sweatpants. She never wore sweatpants. The first thing he thought of, however, was that it was really weird that she was drinking all the chocolate milk by herself, especially out of the carton.

"What're you doing?" Sean asked, confused, "And why are you drinking all my chocolate milk?"

"You're such a girl," she laughed, and took another swig of the milk, "I'm existing in pure agony, that's what. Whatever company makes asprin is a liar. It doesn't work."

"That was uncalled for," Sean mumbled about the "girl" comment, and tossed his backpack on the floor, sitting next to her on the couch, "But I'm still lost."

"About what?" Ellie asked, and threw a chip at him.

"Again, uncalled for," he said, and she smiled, "About why you think you can get away with stealing my chocolate milk and my chips."

"My 'friend' is visiting," she said simply, and when she offered no explanation, Sean stared at her blankly.

"What?"

She looked at him like he had just asked the stupidest question in the world, and then she laughed so hard chocolate milk almost came out of her nose.

"Do I need to tell you point blank? Cramps, cravings, extreme headaches, mood swings, breakouts… did you take Jr. High Health or not?"

"Oh!" Sean said, and his eyes widened at the realization, "Oh! Th-that friend! Right! Well… uh…"

"Sean," she laughed, "I have my period, not yellow fever. No need to be at a loss for words."

"Okay," he said, "Can… can I get you anything?"

"No," she sighed, "Just sit with me."

She laid her head on his shoulder, and he wrapped his arms around her, and they stared at the TV. Ellie left the chocolate milk and chips alone, and hugged her stomach.

"Just think," she said, "Now that we're living together, this is going to happen every month!"

Sean looked at her for a minute, just imagining going through that every month, and his eyes widened with amusement and horror.

"Well, then. I might just have to kick you out," he laughed, and she smiled.

"Sorry. Guess you're stuck with me."

"Just promise you won't leave your bloody underwear in the hamper… or whatever."

"Don't worry, I'll wash them and then hide them. Or maybe I should just burn them. The things I do for you, Sean…"

"But you know you love me."

"Right," she laughed, and he squeezed her tighter, "Now, go get me ice cream."

Sean sighed and rolled his eyes. This was going to be a very long week.
