Angie knocked on her bathroom door. "You can come out English. They're gone."
Peggy got out of Angie's bathroom, having just applied a fresh coat of lipstick. She put her arms around Angie, leaning in for a kiss. "I'm so sorry you had to get caught up in all this."
Angie brushed Peggy off. "I'm fine. It's actually kinda exciting. So what do we do now?"
"I need to find a way to get out of town," said Peggy.
"I can help," said Angie. "I'll call my brother and ask him to-"
"No," said Peggy. "I'm not going to let you put yourself in anymore danger than you're already in."
"I can take care of myself and you need my help," said Angie. "How do you expect to get out of the city on your own?"
"I can manage," said Peggy. "I've got a bus ticket."
"So you think they're stupid enough not to look there?" said Angie.
"Well you haven't had to work with them," said Peggy.
"This is serious," said Angie. "Let me help you. I got those guys to leave."
"That was nothing," said Peggy. "The people I'm up against won't hesitate to kill you."
"So I'm just supposed to stay here, not knowing if you're even alive?" said Angie.
"Look, I know this must be hard on you, I've been where you are," said Peggy. "If I can, I'll tell you about it sometime. But this is for you own good."
Angie put herself between Peggy and the door. "My own good? You were the one who came here asking for my me. You were the one how needed me and you need me now. Just let me call my brother and he can drive you to safety. I won't be in any danger."
"Angie, let me go," said Peggy.
"No," said Angie. "Not unless you let me help."
Peggy tried to push Angie to the side, but Angie wouldn't budge. "Move out of my way. I don't want to have to hurt you."
"I guess you'll have to hurt me," said Angie.
"Angie, remember that I love you." Peggy leaned in and kissed Angie. She kept up the embrace until Angie slumped forward. Peggy carried Angie to her bed and laid her down. She made sure that Angie would be comfortable and covered her up with the blanket. Peggy gave Angie another kiss on her forehead. "Stay safe."
