The Hulk Unleashed
*Auther Note - The "Hulk Unleashed" storyline is my first fanfiction story i have ever written, so it is likely to be a bit rough around the edges. Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.*
Prologue
It happened so suddenly. One minute, Steve Rodgers was looking at a tracking device, trying to determine where the infamous Red Skull could be. The next, the air was filled with the sound of explosions outside. The S.H.E.I.L.D base was virtually undetectable, hidden amongst normal offices in New York. Nobody could have discovered it's location, could they? The S.H.E.I.L.D office was on the 34th floor in a block of a normal working office's. It was surrounded by tall working structures. Nothing made this one stand out. So why was there destruction on it's very dorrstep? Rodgers pondered over the possibility of it being a coincidence, but quickly made his mind up when the building he was in began to tremble. It was vibrating, the entire building. Was it collapsing? Many thoughts like this crossed Rodger's head, but the only one that mattered was two words.
"Suit up."
He grabbed his trusty shield, and realized that the vibrating sensation was more in rythm now.
THUD.
Pause.
THUD.
Pause.
THUD.
The rythm was broken this time, when there was no thud to end the pause. Rodgers thought through what was happening.
'The building is still standing, but what was that noise?'
He listened carefully. Outside he could hear civilians running in terror.
'OK, so they can see something that i cant. The source of that noise. Oh-'
The glass of the enormous window to the right of Rodgers smashed, just as he realized what was happening. The building wasn't being destroyed, Something was climbing up the building. A giant fist came through the glass, to big to be a normal human's. So distinguishable, that it could only belong to one person. Rodgers realized he didn't stand a chance, and dropped his shield in surrender to the beast that stood before him. Steve Rodgers last thought before he blacked out was a simple one.
'We need Banner. We need it.'
To be continued...
