Yep, this is how I would have ended Death Note. I'm not a Christian, but I like the symbolism of the idea, so here it is.
Light lay on the ground bleeding. He knew he was dying and that he'd lost. Damn that Near… If only there had been someone left with him, he felt so alone. Where was Misa? She had always been good to him, but not in the end. Now she was gone. Just like everyone else. Light supposed that in the end, when you trust no one, and lie to everyone, in the end, there is only yourself… and the memories. Who would have believed this? The great Kira, god of the new world, was killed by a simple gun. By Matsuda, a simple man… Blood seemed out of his wounds and into the stone panes on the ground. He struggled to remain control of himself, and his consciousness, but when he thought he was about to fade from the world forever, he saw a slightly glowing light. L stepped from the shadows, and took his hands. Light felt himself begin to feel less heavy, and more alive. L lead him up the stairs and into the clouds. Light looked back at the world, and realized that it was time to leave it.
Yep, that's the end. Who thinks I should write more Fanfiction? If so, review!
