Lila
A breeze wafted through the open doorway into the kitchen, bringing a bit of relief to the cook and her scullery maids. One girl in particular noticed though. Her eyes lifted up from the potatoes she was chopping and glanced outside. Just beyond the door a girl in a red hood was beckoning her insistently with a wagging finger. Lila surreptitiously peaked at the other workers in the room gossiping and cooking. Nobody was looking or paying any attention to her, so, as though she had every right to, Lila walked straight out the door.
After taking a few steps out of the stuffy kitchen, she began to run towards her friend. Red, as was her nickname, laughed and asked,"What took you so long? I must've been standing there five minutes before you noticed me!"
