HiJack week day 3: Seasons
When it came to preference of seasons, Jack and Hiccup were polar opposites. Hiccup loved summer. He loved the heat and the fun that came with it, the long days spent with friends playing on the beach or riding the dragons high in the sky, feeling the sun on their faces. Also, he'd gladly admit he loved seeing Jack sulking in the heat, hiding underneath the shade of a tree and complaining about how he'd much rather be inside.
Now Jack rather preferred winter, but being Jack Frost that was only obvious. He loved rushing around, freezing roofs, tree tops and the water. He was always running around, snickering at Hiccup who kept himself bundled up, rolling his green eyes at his excited lover.
However, there was one season both of them could agree on, and that was Fall. It was still warm, still harvesting the lingering lazy cheer of summer, but it was also cool with the anxious excitement of winter. Neither complained during this season, instead used it to enjoy it together like they were now.
Jack stared lazily up at the yellow and orange leaves above, his head resting in Hiccup's lap. Hiccup's fingers were running through Jack's white hair, toothless sound asleep behind the two boys. Jack's blue eyes watched as a leaf fluttered down and we waited until it landed on his chest before picking it up. He smiled, watching the leaf slowly freeze before chuckling.
Hiccup raised a curious eyebrow. "What are you laughing at?"
"I don't even know," Jack smiled, handing the frozen leaf to him. "Just waiting for winter to hurry up and get here."
Hiccup took the leaf, shaking his head. "I'm waiting for summer."
Jack frowned. "Ick."
"You only say that because you can't handle the heat," Hiccup laughed, a small smirk tugging at his lips. "You melt."
"Oh, jeeze," Jack rolled his eyes, staring up at the older boy with a slight frown. "I do not melt."
"You basically do," Hiccup snickered, running his hand through Jack's hair again. "You get all whiny and blush a lot...and sweat and complain. It's cute."
Jack's face turned purple as he blushed. "Stop calling me cute."
"Nah," Hiccup smiled, leaning down to press a soft kiss tot he sprites pouting lips. He stayed there, his face hovering just above Jack's as he kept smiling. "You're adorable, Jack."
Jack blinked, huffing. "I am not!"
"Are too," Hiccup laughed, green eyes filled with sincerity.
Behind them, Toothless made a growling sound, his tail hitting a tree nd making orange and yellow leaves fall, cascading around both of the boys. Hiccup grinned wider. "See? Even Toothless thinks you're cute."
Jack sighed, letting leaves fall onto him as he shook his head lightly. Hiccup, knowing he won, began to run his fingers through Jack's hair yet again. Toothless curled up around the two, leaves crunching under him. The air was warm, a cool breeze blowing by every so often. Winter was right around the corner, but for now they were both content with enjoying Fall.
Ok, last HiJack week fic for sure. Going home tomorrow so no internet there...ughh. Reviews?
