Winters are more bitter than any scrooge and colder than any arctic that Absol can imagine. Wind slaps at the faces of children who dare fall victim to curiosity and venture outside, ice slicks the cobbled streets and back roads, rising terror from every Trainer's bosom, and the people of the town grow more nervous, more hectic, always looking out for others to save and worry over, trapped in the mountainous snow drifts.

Of course, of everything about the world in winter, to Absol, the worst of all is the snow.

It blankets the landscape oh-so prettily, raining down like shards of crystal as it shines in the dull street lamps' glow. The small flakes, no two the same, are an infinite army, marching down to Earth from the heavens and driving rambunctious children and Trainers inside, dangerous Pokémon to sleep, and Absol to the hills overlooking the city.

Sometimes, Absol wanders outside and to the park just a mile or two from her cave, right on the edge of the large metropolis, watching the snow pelt the run-down buildings from all sides. With a wry chuckle that doesn't reach her eyes, Absol muses that the snow is not as much snow and more a typhoon, with its vicious attacks and relentless nips at her face and fur-covered body. It is not so different from her, the storm; it is cold and drives everybody away; a case of disaster. Before her, the dilapidated old buildings groan and shudder beneath the cold's touch.

Absol hates the snow.

With her gaunt figure and pale gray eyes, though she is normally easy to see, Absol is barely even visible in the storm. Grimacing, the Pokémon wrinkles her nose and begins on her way back to her warm cave to be warmed once more. However, eventually, Absol wanders back out onto the steep crest of the hill at the park and merely watches people pass on by, faces tinged pink and uttering curses under their breath. Rather than calling out to them, a cry for help as the storm slowly destroys her, she simply rests and observes them, the people who do not recognize her amongst the white.

She wonders if anybody can see her atop that hill, pale gaze reaching out for miles, the disaster Pokémon who is so bright and yet can't even be spotted in a blizzard.
