Sins of the Doctor
A Doctor Who Poem
By: The Doctor's Altar

Pride feeds his two dark hearts,
His thirst, must be quenched, to fuel his dishonesty,
Cleansing flames, is the only way to re-live, renounce, what made him.

Words that heal, speaking them out to me,
But his breath so still, never knew they are true,
The Sins always live, like blood flowing off his hands.

Let Time to fear us all, it's our means to an end.
Our salvation lies, in the Doctor's sins.
Above the truth, let him suffer now,
In his hearts, he just knows there's no way to end his dark plight, through his eyes.

A/N: I was watching a trailer for the latest installment to the Metal Gear Solid Franchise, MGSV: The Phantom Pain. I was listening to the lyrics in the trailer and realize "hey, this sounds pretty much like the Doctor or what the Doctor is becoming in his 12th incarnation" in regards to his past, his sins, and the blood soaked on his hands. So, I took the lyrics and rework it into a poem.

To see the lyrics as sung, go to and search "Sins of the Father" "metal gear solid phantom pain."

Disclaimer: I do not own Doctor Who. Doctor Who belongs to Steven Moffat and the BBC. Also, I do not own the song, "Sins of the Father," which is the inspiration behind this poem. "Sins of the Father" is a song used in the Trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, sung by Donna Burke, composed by Akhiro Honda. "Sins of the Father" belongs to Kojima Productions, Moby Dick Productions, and the respective owners of the Metal Gear Solid Franchise.
