Cooks, Brooks, And Trouble
Ten year old Dimitri could not stop rolling on the ground in laughter. The scene playing in front of him was to hilarious to keep a straight face. The young boy loved traveling with the rest of the servants and the royal family of Imperial Russia to their summer palace. It meant that Dimitri didn't have to look at the ever constant snow fall of Imperial Russia all day, everyday. In fact the summer palace was where they were now.
The cook was tired of being terrorized by the youngest princess, Anastasia and chased her himself out of the kitchen. His ruthless and mischievous kitchen boy, Dimitri followed his master. Dimitri didn't follow to obey orders, but to get a good laugh. The wily princess was amazing at causing trouble and it was always amusing to the bystanders.
Dimitri chased cook and princess out of the palace and outside to the brook. In the brook, was the head cook, Dimitri's master huffing; the reason for Dimitri's laughter.
Eight year old Anastasia was quite proud of herself. The smug little grin on her face proved that. She had just thrown the annoying cook into the brook for not letting her have a delicious cream puff. Oh Anastasia knew that she would be in trouble when her father, the Czar, found out about her current adventure, but she didn't care as she enjoyed watching the cook fight his way out of the stream.
That's when she heard the laughter of the mischievous kitchen boy not much older than herself. Laughing like a hyena and rolling in the dirt, Dimitri was getting on Anastasia's nerves. Didn't he know it was rude to act that way in the presence of a princess? However, Anastasia wasn't thinking of that. Right now the princess was just thinking that this kitchen boy was just as annoying as the cook she just threw in the brook. Anastasia had to do something to make him stop. Quietly walking up behind the boy, Anastasia readied herself for what was to come next. Watching the rolling boy, the young princess contemplated the best time for her to make her move.

His back was to her now as he rolled on the ground in laughter. With all her might, Anastasia pushed him in the direction of the brook. The laughing boy rolled into the little stream and nearly sank. When he had resurfaced, he glared with hatred in his eye at the princess.
It was now the little girl's turn to laugh uncontrollably. The cook and his kitchen boy were both in the brook, leaving little Anastasia to laugh and to gloat in their faces. "Hahaha!" her smug little voice rang out like church bells.
"Anastasia," a stern voice sounded, clearly unhappy.
Anastasia looked upward and saw the Czar, her father, towering above her. The Czar had his arms folded against his chest and gave her the look that told her to be have. "Uh-oh," she squeaked realizing that she was in trouble.
Well, this was the end of Cooks, Brooks, And Trouble. I watched Anastasia the other day and couldn't get "Learn To Do It" out of my head. From there I the purple plot bunny came in the night and voila! I have a wonderful idea to write another Anastasia fic when she and Dimitri were kids. I hoped you enjoyed this. Please review and tell me what you think!
