I am supposed to be writing a paper. Or rather I should be asleep at almost 5am, but after last night's episode and that look of happiness on Blaine's mom's face at him getting married to Kurt of all people, I could not resist writing a piece for Blaine's mom. Here it is. I have unexpected love for this wonderful woman. Like insane levels of love.
And I love you always
The first few weeks are going to all be about keeping it a secret.
He blows up often enough as it is. The thought alone hurts.
The thought that Blaine's father would not appreciate his own son's happiness ... hurts more.
And gosh ... he is SO happy.
If he wasn't rooming at Dalton ... it would be impossible to hide from her husband.
But her son, her son who had come to her, aged eleven, eyes wide with wonder and worry and asked if ... if it was okay ... "to want to hold hands with a boy, not a girl, a ... a boy, Mom?"
... tears well up in her eyes as she keeps looking at the picture Blaine has sent her of him, them, sitting on a couch in the Dalton common room, sides touching, the hand not guiding the camera on his phone clasping that of the boy by his side, warm and tight, she can tell. Blaine has had ... you've had to wait for that for so long.
The boy, pale and all the more visibly blushing for it, leaning into Blaine's side, and biting his lip shyly looks equally happy.
She reads the text again that has had her sitting here for the last 17 minutes, gazing at her youngest son, clearly in love, and not afraid to share it with her.
She had hoped for it, but only half dared ..., after all she is still married to the man Blaine knows will never come around to think like Cooper and her. She would have understood if he had been afraid to share this, this something, this someone special.
It makes her all the happier to see he is not, she hiccups a small laugh of relief as she wipes at her eyes again, stray tears keeping up their escape once in a while.
"Mom," the text reads, "this is Kurt. Today, I officially asked him to be my boyfriend. He said yes."
