This is what would have happened if Bryce Lawrence had been able to capture Reyna and take her back to Camp Jupiter. It's my first publishing, so please don't give me insanely harsh criticism. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy!
Reyna's Fate
Reyna felt the bony fingers of the skeletons dig into her skin. She was roughly pushed up against a brick wall. Bryce Lawrence laughed. Reyna assumed that he was enjoying her pain. He was probably relishing the fact that he had the great praetor of Camp Jupiter pinned.
"Hedge!" Reyna said indignantly. "A little help would be appreciated."
"On it!" Hedge replied. He readied his baseball bat like he was going to hit a homer. "Leave Reyna alone!" The coach charged at Bryce. He leaped into the air, presumably to whack Bryce on the head. But Bryce wrenched the bat from the satyr's grasp. He hurled it at the wall that Reyna was pushed against. Reyna winced as splinters rained down upon her.
"You stupid little faun." Bryce sneered. He picked up Hedge by his neck, then threw him to the ground. Hedge hit it with a solid thud. "Didn't you have one more friend, Reyna? That son of Pluto. The ambassador."
"Yeah. That's me." Nico called out from the shadows, his sword drawn. "Let Reyna go, and no one will get hurt."
Bryce let out an enormous laugh. "You think that you can threaten me? You're just a scrawny little boy. If you dare, try me."
"Nico, don't do anything rash. He's strong." Reyna advised. She was scared. If Nico took a blow to the head, issued by Bryce, there was a chance he wouldn't survive. He was already so weak from shadow-travel. But to her dismay, Nico advanced. He slashed at Bryce with his sword, but he ducked. Bryce rolled and struck Nico in the stomach with his fist. The son of Pluto doubled over, breathless. Bryce smiled. He stood, and kicked Nico in the chest. Reyna watched, horrified, as Nico flew back and hit the wall next to her. His eyes closed, and he slumped to the ground. "Nico!" Reyna cried.
"Aw, that's sweet. Does Reyna have a crush on the little Pluto boy?" Bryce mocked her. He drew a knife. "I could end his life right now." He began to walk towards the fallen boy.
"No! Don't, please!" Reyna struggled against the skeletons, but they were surprisingly strong. She was shoved harder against the wall.
Bryce laughed again. "I won't. I'm enjoying your pain enough at the moment." He turned to his undead. "Release her!" Bryce walked up to Reyna, and grabbed her wrists. Pinning them behind her back, he wrapped thin cords around them. Then he removed a pair of shackles from his jacket. "Octavian had these made just for you."
Reyna was shocked. Octavian must have been certain that Bryce would capture her. She squinted at the small engravings on the chains. They read R.A.R.A. "Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano." she murmured.
"Exactly!" Bryce cuffed her ankles. "Now, we should probably stop dawdling. I have to get you to Camp Jupiter!"
