Notes: I wrote this quite a while ago, and posted on DA, but never got around to posting it here. I should warn you now of the frequent use of the "f" word. I was having a bad day when I wrote this and tried to channel my feelings into this piece.

How. Could. He. Do. This?
Axel paced around the small room.
Back and forth. Back and forth.
It was all he could think of.
How. Could. He. Do. This?
A small snarl escaped Axel's lips and a small flame flickered into existence, burning another hole in the carpet. He snuffed it out with his boot as he continued along the same pace. Back and forth. Back and forth.
It seemed so easy, in theory at least. All he had to do was leave, go as far away as possible. There was nothing left for him here: Roxas was gone and he'd never see him again. They would never eat sea-salt ice cream on the clock tower again. What did he have to gain by staying? His heart? He laughed bitterly. It didn't seem worth it anymore. He had fought and bled for their "goal", betrayed his best friend and watched him be sacrificed for the greater good. He had lived for ten fucking years like this, and for what? Nothing. Kingdom Hearts couldn't give him what he wanted most. It couldn't bring Roxas back to him.
All he had to do was leave.
You are a Nobody.
You feel nothing.
How many times had those words been repeated until they became his mantra?
Fuck them.
Fuck them all.
They were wrong. He didn't feel nothing. He had felt something for Roxas. He had hoped to see him again. When the plan failed, that hope had been extinguished and now he had nothing left.
Nothing to lose.
Axel's lips turned up into a sadistic grin. He could make them pay. The Keyblade master would be the one to deliver the final blow, but he would ensure the Organization fell. He would have to trust Sora, but, from what he had seen of the boy from Castle Oblivion, he had no love for the Organization. If only Sora would trust him…
He'd think about that later. Right now, he needed to find the boy. That wouldn't be too hard; he was good at tracking people. That was how he found Roxas, after all.
It didn't matter if he was sacrificed in the process, just as long as the remnants of the Organization met its end.
Nobodies were fated to fade back into the darkness.
After all, they weren't supposed to exist in the first place. No, as long as he took down the rest of the Organization with him, it wouldn't matter.
At last, Axel stopped his pacing. He stared out the window at Kingdom Hearts for a moment before turning away in disgust.
He could do this.
His mind made up, he created a portal there, in his room. He had been confined there after Kairi had fallen into the hands of Saïx, but boundaries were laughable now.
Without a second thought, he stepped through the portal.
His final betrayal had begun.
