Come play with me.

I love the way sweat drips down a person's face when their afraid, I love the way the try to fight back.

I have been watching you for almost a month now. I think you're starting to catch on. Your breath becomes ragged when even the slightest breeze moves the tree branches. Your eyes dart around, as if you're looking for the escape. But there is no escape now Malik. You're part of my game at the moment darling, and I simply refuse to lose to the likes of you.

You have had nightmares frequently lately. I wonder; are they about me? Am I the one whose been making you, so deliciously terrified? Am I the one that makes you this… vulnerable? Do I scare you Malik? I think it's time to make my move. So while you're sitting out there on your front porch steps, I will come out of hiding, and come and take you with me.

Why are you shivering my love? Are you cold or frightened? I hold out my hand to exchange acceptance, but you do not hold out yours. Why? This angers me. Why do you not comply? Do you not accept me? I've waited a long time to meet you in person Malik, and yet you disappoint me. No matter.

"Malik, my love."

You glare at me with hatred and animosity.

"Malik!" I command. You are truly this keen on testing my patience, are you not my dear?

"Yes…" you hiss.

"You aren't a very nice playmate." I frown at this thought. I thought you would be more fun than this.

You only stare.

"Fine then. That's too bad, but I guess I don't have to play nice either now."

Your eyes widen with fear, but that no longer matters to me. But I guess I'll be nice.

"You know Malik," I spit out the name, "I've always loved rhymes. I have a game I want to play with you okay my love? Since I like you so much, I've decided that I'll give you a rhyming riddle. If you figure out the answer you get to live. A generous deal eh?"

You remain silent. Is this fear I smell? I've got to say, you smell simply magnificent when afraid. Oh well, on with the riddle I suppose.

"In marble walls as white as milk,
Lined with skin as soft as silk;
Within a fountain crystal clear,
A golden apple doth appear.
No doors there are to this stronghold -
Yet thieves break in and steal the gold."

"It's… an egg?"

"Correct! Good job my darling!" I'm simply ecstatic. My playmate gets to stay.

"Great. Now where's the door to this hellhole?"

This amuses me. "I never said anything about leaving did I?"

"You've got to be kidding me."

"No. You are part of the game now. Kudos."

"I have a sister to get home to."

"What about your brother?"

Malik turned away, frowning. "He died not too long ago. He was kidnapped." He looked up at me with the same hatred he did earlier.

"So what's your girlfriend's name?"

"Fuck you. I'm going to bed. Okay 'master.'"

How dare he not answer? Or does he not have a girlfriend? Is he gay? I guess I'd find out later. It was going to be fun playing with him...
