Summary: Rowena struggles to whip the Hogwarts curriculum into shape. Third part of the Hogwarts Relay for the Hogwarts Olympics.
An: The Hogwarts Relay starts with Ralinde with Helga Hufflepuff, next TheTwoDL with… Salazar I think… now me with Rowena! I take the last paragraph from the last story and then keep writing. This can be read on its own though.
Everyone laughed and they shook hands with each other, in the deal. They ordered the bartender for second mugs of fire-whiskey, to celebrate the final decision making occasion. Together, they laughed, drank and talked till their hearts content, also visualizing their soon-to-come students, being sorted with a sneaking sense of pride. No doubt there was a lot of work, still left to be complete, but for now, their minds were content.
Rowena stomped into the Great Hall.
"We need to get started on next semester's curriculum."
The other three founders stared at her with varying degrees of incredulity.
"Term has just ended dear," Helga started slowly "I know you are eager but we have months to prepare for the students return."
"Yes, relax a bit Rowena, the curriculum can wait a while," Godric said jovially.
Salazar made a small sound of agreement and gave her a level stare with tired eyes.
"But this cannot wait, not if we want to implement all of the changes I have come up with."
With that Rowena pulled stacks and stacks of parchment out of the bag at her hip, ignoring Godric's horrified intake of breath and Salazar's frustrated sigh.
"Sweetheart, you know I do not turn my nose up at hard work, but if we keep running at the pace we have been we will burn out," Helga murmured.
"Exactly my point! It has only been one semester and we have run ourselves half to death. Have any of you checked the enrolment scroll?"
Silence.
"I didn't think so, well enrolment is up and the list is getting longer as each day passes. We cannot do this alone… we need more teachers."
The other three founders traded glances.
"I… would not object the idea," Salazar said slowly. "But there are very few qualified witches and wizards that could be trusted around children of a certain- caliber." He glanced over at Godric as he said this.
"Then we will find those few…and while we are on the subject I would like to add more classes to the school."
She was met with tired sighs. The other Founders knew her all too well, they would get no peace until she was convinced her ideas had been heard. So with heavy hearts and empty stomachs they settled in and started to talk.
They discussed the courses they could implement, compared friends of friends of friends who could qualify to teach, and as always argued loudly over everything before coming to any decision. But by the end Rowena was satisfied with their progress, and was convinced that they would create the world's greatest and most diverse school of magic.
Now all I need to do is convince them we need a school song…
