He didn't mean for this to happen. He tried to control it, but the urge was too strong. The more he fought, the easier it was for the animal to overshadow his humanity. Now everyone was on the floor- in pieces. How could this have happened? Jasper lay crumpled on the floor, peering at his dead family. A shudder sweeps over him. Mom and Dad are on the floor. So is little sister. After years of being a monster, he thought he had some control over it. He was wrong. Jasper had hidden away from his family, but that made matters worse. The thirst overcame him. And yet it was more than that. Everytime the urge reared its ugly head, he felt hunger pains down to his core. His stomach growled; his throat was dry. The hunger seeped into every pore of his being. And now his family had paid the price. There was a knocking on the door. Jasper looked up. Lost in grief, he hadn't noticed the anyone approaching the house. "Jasper are you in here?" Gale called. He walked through the dining area and looked around the house. What happened? Chairs were littered across the floor. The curtains were torn to shreds and claw blood streaked the floor. Gale's stomach lurched. His heart pounded. Jasper could hear it from the other room. Jasper listened to the hard thumping of Gale's heart and the pulsating of blood in his veins. "Please turn around. Just walk away," Jasper thought as he struggled to regain control. Jasper tore at his hair. Gale stepped into the living room and found Jasper hidden behind the couch. His eyes scanned the floor. Realization dawned on him. "What have you done?" Gale asked. Jasper looked at him with hungry eyes. That steely gaze sent shivers down Gale's spine. Jasper hissed "Get out. NOW!" It was too late. With lightening speed, Jasper lunged for his best friend and ripped his throat out. And then he ran.
