The Hive was silent, except for the echoeing screams of terror and pain. These, however, weren't being caused by the Xenomorphs. They were hiding, from something much worse. A human child. A little 5 year old, stepping carefully through the Hive webbing, to the marines that lay groaning and crying on the ground. She would kneel besides them, and hold their hands, smiling at them. The marines would smile back. She stroked their hair, smiling all the while. Once on a while, she would ask,

"Where does it hurt?" in the most innocent voice you can imagine. The marines would tell her, she would lean over and kiss it, then, begin singing. This was what had Fastclaw, the Queen, Javen, Ale'con, Six and Shaftin and all others in the Hive cowering in their dens, hissing in terror. The marines would smile through their tears,

"Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are." After each stanza, her hand would move to their wound.

"How I wonder what you are." She grabbed their clothes to reveal the wound, which had some marines squirming in discomfort. The Xenomorphs shuddered and curled up. They knew what came next.

"Up above the world so high." She pulled her hand back,... Fastclaw shut his mind out of the connection and curled up with Six and Shaftin in his den, shutting his ears to the next part.

"Like a diamond in the sky.." A horrendous scream of pain ripped through the air as she plunges her hand into the wound, ripping it open even more, eliciting shrieks of pain and hissing scree's from the Xenomorphs. They HATED this. It hurt so much and although they were used to screams, it was what the little girl was doing that scared them the most, even the Queen was pulled into her crest, the Praetorians around her, sheltering her.

The girl pulled her hand out, smiling again and leaning over to the men, whispering-

"Twinkle twinkle little star,... how I wonder what you are..." as the men died.

Deep in the recesses of the Hive, Fastclaw yelped, hearing the soft voice.

"Is it over?" whispered Six. Fastclaw's tail lashed and claws curled.

"No..." he breathed. Shaftin shuddered and lay still. All through the Hive, silence, then

"Twinkle twinkle little star... how I wonder what you are..."
