Runescape Ruminations in Rhyme

I put on a tunic, strapped on an axe, and soon felt quite different,

I found myself in a dark, damp, cave… A new and strange predicament!

A troll was there and some other creatures,

I looked around for some familiar features,

My goal was to speak with a cook at the castle,

How did I end up in here? What a hassle!

I'm "morgenda" a fearless vassal,

Who lives in the land of Burthorpe.

I'm new to this place so I don't know it well,

I keep getting lost, and it can be hell!

Another day of aimless wandering,

Looking for Lumbridge castle,

Why are there so many paths around?

This journey should be much more facile.

Along the way I met some people who wanted to speak to me,

Wizards, goblins, dwarves and trolls, and each one with a task!

Merchants, cooks, guards, and bankers,

I never knew whom to ask…

Or where to go or how to read the signs that were my guide,

I often prayed that I would see Lumbridge castle at my side,

I went north, south, east, and west,

On a mission and once, on a quest…

I did many things I never had before,

I stole, I lied, I cheated,

I killed a poor innocent cow with my ax,

Until she was defeated.

Then suddenly I met a troll,

One that was beyond my level,

That troll, he felled me very fast!

He really was a devil!

I died and met Death, sitting in his chair,

He was black and hooded and gloomy and fixed upon me his creepy stare,

He said my time had not yet come, and back to my life I must go,

I wanted him to teleport me to Lumbridge, but that was not to be so.

He said I must visit the place where I had died,

And note the time and date,

I read the tombstone with the words "Morgenda died here"

And reflected upon my fate.

Reflect I did and sought revenge upon that stupid troll,

I died twice more and only then did battle take its toll,

I ran from him and went away upon another quest,

This time in Lumbridge castle, the place I like the best.

I, morgenda, will have more adventures, another day, or time, or year,

Perhaps I will meet up with friends and look for some sheep to shear,

But most of all that troll better watch out! Because I'll be back for him!

Next time I can guarantee that his chance at victory will be slim!
