Glasses

"No! No! No!" The eight year old crown princess Izumi screamed, running to her room.

"Izumi," Zuko called, after his daughter.

He looked helplessly at his wife and two of his closest friends—Aang and Katara, who had brought their two children for a vacation at the Avatar's private vacation house on Ember Island. It had belonged to Avatar Roku, but after his death was seized by Fire Lord Sozin. However, Zuko didn't need it and gave it to Aang and the two had come up with the plan that it would passed from Avatar to Avatar rather than to the Avatar's family.

"I think she'd look cool in glasses," seven year old Bumi commented.

"Convincing her of that won't be easy," Zuko murmured drily.

"You think she looks cool all the time," six year old Kya snapped.

"So you like playing with her hair," Bumi replied.

Zuko, Katara, Aang, and Mai all chuckled.

"What?" The two siblings asked.

"Bumi, Izumi may be your friend, but she's also Kya's friend and sometimes, she just needs girl time," Aang carefully explained.

"Can we talk to her?" Kya asked.

All the adults nodded.

Then Bumi and Kya took off toward their friend's room.

"I don't want or need glasses," Izumi declared stubbornly.

"I think gold square rim glasses would look really cool on you," Bumi replied.

"Yeah, gold would be perfect," Kya added.

"Really? You guys wouldn't mind if I had glasses?" Izumi asked.

"No," Kya replied. "You're our friend and we won't let anyone pick on you for having them. Plus it'll make you look way smarter than us."

"I already am smarter than the two of you," Izumi countered.

The two siblings scowled. "Kidding," Izumi smiled.

A few minutes later, Izumi returned to the main hall where the adults were still talking. Bumi and Kya. "Daddy, I've decided that I will get glasses, but I want gold square frames," Izumi declared.

Zuko and Mai both agreed and a few weeks later, Izumi no longer struggled with her sight.
