AU: First SyFy's "Alice" story I'm writing. I don't own the series at all or anything involving Alice in Wonderland. Please Read and Review and hope you guys enjoy this! :D
Alice was…nervous? Yeah, you could say that. Excited too? Yeah, she was that too. It was a mixture of both as she paced around her bedroom, figuring it out an outfit. Normally she wasn't the type of girl to worry about what to wear but tonight…tonight she wanted to get this right. It was also the first "official" date that she and Hatter were going to have in her world.
After all that happened in Wonderland, Hatter continued to go back and forth through the looking glass to make sure the place would continue to be in order but he was back in the "Oysters" world and tonight, they were going out for dinner first and figure out something to do afterwards; perhaps she will take him around her town or maybe go dancing.
She stared at her closet, throwing dress after dress on her bed and figuring out what to wear. She decided on a simple, knee-length, violet dress and black shoes. Alice went to the bathroom to fix herself up. She straightened her hair and pulled some of it back. She then put on very light, natural make-up on her face. Would this be too much for tonight? Maybe even too little? She never felt like this before after the dates she's been on. Alice was feeling as though this was the first date she was having in her life.
Meanwhile, Hatter already arrived at the apartment but he was double checking himself. He was wearing a blue button up shirt with slim, dark gray pants and a pair of two-tone dress shoes. Hatter wasn't used to these different outfits the Oysters wore and finding his own "style" was a bit of a challenge but he gave up and decided this looked good for tonight.
Looking around the apartment, he looked at the pictures Alice and her mother had on display while trying to tie his tie. He couldn't help but to smirk to himself at a very young picture of her in a blue dress… It reminded him of the one she wore when they first met. His tie was giving him more trouble than it should and ties have always done this to him. He sighed and gave up on it, tying a knot and slipping it on.
Alice gave herself a once over in the mirror, smoothing out her hair and dress, before opening the door and walking out to the hallway. Hatter heard the door and immediately turned his head to the sound and looked to see her walking. His bottom lip slacked slightly at the sight of her dolled up.
"Uhh…" He started before swallowing hard. "You look lovely."
She couldn't help but to feel a small blush coming to her cheeks as she walked closer to him to get a better look at his attire, her heart quickening as she got closer. "Erm…t-thank you." She said a bit shyly. "You look…very handsome." As usual, she thought to herself.
He tilted his head to the ground and chuckled. "Thanks, just threw d'is together now." Okay...that was a lie. He had this outfit planned out for a few days...since they decided to do this date. Hatter looked back up at her. "Wait...you actually think I look okay?"
She nodded. "Yeah...I do."
Hatter showed her a smile, glad this was already going well. He felt as though he was forgetting something though...of course! He put his hands up as if to tell Alice to hold on as he walked back to the couch to grab the fedora off of the cushion and put it on his head, adjusting it to the right position he wanted to have. He walked quickly back to her and held out his arm for her. "Ready?" He asked.
Alice couldn't help but to laugh to herself as she watched him grab his fedora and perfecting it. She slipped her arm under his and showed him a grin. "Yup, I'm ready." She said.
