Day 5 - Friday 14th July
Pain
Find a place inside where there's joy, and the joy will burn out the pain.
Snart lay on his back, a knife buried deep into his gut. He clutched the knife and breathed heavily through the pain. He'd gone out again by himself and run into just a few too many monsters. That last vampire now lay shattered into hundreds of frozen pieces, but he'd buried a knife into Snart's gut and he felt the life leaching out of him in bouts of pain and blood, staining the ground beneath his supine form.
He should have contact Anna before going out. He'd made one too many gambles and here he was, laying in a growing pool of his own blood, thoughts turning on the red headed angel that had drawn his attention with her skill, intelligence, and tenacity. He felt the curve of her back, the softness of her hair running through his fingers. That brought a slight smile to his lips before a cough escaped him, splattering his lips with blood. He was a cold hearted son-of-a-bitch, but that red headed angel had found her way under his skin.
He lifted his head to get a look at the knife protruding from his gut. He wasn't going to die today. He pulled the knife out with a quick, smooth motion before clamping pressure over it with his hands, letting out a groan of pain. Slowly his vision faded out to black and then a different scene took its place.
It was a sleepy morning with sun drifting in through shades, a slight chill in the air, as he liked it, and a weight nuzzled in next to him in bed. "Not sure if this ever gets old," he drawled.
Anna drew small patterns on his chest with her finger in thought. "Nope. Don't think it will," she confirmed.
Snart bit his lip. "So. We just gonna keep hookin' up like this when the mood takes us or what?" he asked dryly.
Anna looked up at his face. "That depends," she stated. "What do you want, Leonard?" she asked seriously.
Snart considered. "Want to grab dinner tonight?" he asked her in answer.
Anna smirked at that and rolled so she was on top of him, looking down at Snart with her red hair framing her face. "Pretty sure that would make my week," she said.
He smiled slightly as his vision faced in and out, seeing a mirror image of the one in his minds eye. "Snart! Don't go dying on me now!" she declared angrily. "Don't you dare do that to me!" She said, working fast to heal what she could with her healing powers slowed by the world.
"Anna…I…I wouldn't dream of it," he coughed out.
