During the night.
Thiefs who creep,
Lovers who fight.

under the ground.
Even in the light of day.
There are nobles who plunder,
Like seagulls at the bay.

in the Lower City.
Inside the inns.
Gambling and drinking,
The cheaters always win.

There are things that happen,
within the family.
In the house.
The bastard child,
Whom the mother's forced to douse.

There are things that happen,
invisible to all.
Things inside the mind.
If seeing is believing,
Then we are all blind.

Things happen in the Lower City. Ugly truths. Things we don't want to admit we know happen. Sometimes we refuse to acknowledge things because we don't see them. If seeing is believing, then we are all blind.
