Artemis was nearing the completion of preparation for the capture of a fairy. Butler and Juliet had come along as well. Artemis scanned over the long involved list of items they would need, and he read off the last item. "Sunglasses,"

Butler nodded, no trace of surprise on his face. He was used to Artemis's complex plans and did not question why they would be purchasing sunglasses. Juliet thought differently. "Why do we need those Arty?"

He shot her an icy glare before replying, "They're a preventative measure for the mesmer. It's a fairy spell that we're going to avoid." He paused and added. "Whoever we kidnap, I'm sure they'll try it. The Book mentions an awful lot on the topic,"

Juliet shrugged. All day they had been searching for computer products, surveillance equipment, hard to come by items, and a multitude of other things. Shopping for sunglasses might be a little more interesting. The three of them walked into a store with nice displays and were greeted by the cool rush of the air conditioner. Artemis picked up a pair of glasses that could have been in a spy movie while Juliet looked at a pair adorned with rhinestones. Butler stood with his hand behind his back, face impassive.

In the end Artemis decided that (a) all the glasses should be the same (b) the fairy should not be able to see through the lens and (c) they had to give off a good impression. Finally, he narrowed it down to a chic pair of secret agent looking glasses and a pair of glasses with reflective lens that looked somewhat insect-like. He tried on each pair one last time and turned to Butler. "What do you think?"

"Well, sir, that first pair could be penetrated with human eye if you look at them long enough,"

Artemis frowned. He had personally liked that pair better. "Yes, yes," he said. "I suppose we'll purchase the reflective pair. After all, we're protecting our eyes from other eyes, not UV rays."

He strolled over to the counter and paid for the glasses. "Your mother won't be too pleased that we did all the shopping on her credit card," Juliet commented as they walked out of the shop.

Artemis waved away the remark and replied, "I'll pay it at the end of the month from her account, get the record, shred it, and give back the card, eventually. She'll never know the difference,"

So they drove home without further ado, for they still had much preparation. The holding room had to be all set and the equipment packed in the car, among other things. After all, Artemis and Butler were going to kidnap a fairy tonight. Yes, there was much to be done.
