REALLY SHITTY Idea I had while I was in the shower. So naturally, I had to make a fanfiction about it.
1924: Josef Stalin gains control of Russia, after outmaneuvering his rivals and gaining control of the Communist Party.
1925: Stalin begins his plan to transform Russia into the Soviet Union by making it an industrial superpower.
1926: Stalin rules with an Iron Fist.
1939: Stalin and Hitler sign a nonaggression pact, so they won't attack each other. (for now)
1941: Hitler breaks the non aggression pact, invading the Soviets. Bad move, Nazis.
1943: The Mighty Red Army defeats the Nazis, driving them out of the Soviet Union.
1944: The Soviets begin "Project Svarog"
1945: The first prototype nuclear bomb is completed.
1946: Project Svarog is completed, where brings us to the start of the story.
In the year 1944, the Soviet union was one of the dominant powers in the entire world, but no, that was not enough, and Stalin seeked even more power, so Project Svarog came into existence. Project Svarog's goal was to create a machine capable of travelling to different dimensions, so the Soviet Union could expand their empire even more. Some of the brightest minds of the Soviet Union was hired to do this highly secretive project, and only a few select people knew about it. The project took 2 years to complete, but finally, the 12 of November, 1946, the project was completed, and Stalin, some important Generals, 200 of the Soviet Union's finest soldiers, and Stalin's Elite Guard came to see the first activation.
"So, you're telling me that once this turns on, a portal will be made to another Dimension that is fresh and ripe for the taking?" Stalin asked Arseny Ivanov, the lead scientist for this project.
"Yes, it should do exactly that." Ivanon said, "As long as nothing goes wrong."
"Sir, do you actually think this will work?" General Viktor said.
"Of course I do, General" Stalin replied, "There is no reason why it should not work, after all, I put some of the greatest minds on earth on this project."
"Very well then." General Viktor said.
"Sir, the machine is ready to be activated." Ivanov said to Stalin. "Should I activate it?"
"Yes you fool! Activate it!"
Arseny Ivanov walked over to the portal machine, where he told one of the scientists to turn the machine on. That scientist did what he was told, and walked over to the activation button, where he then proceeded to push it.
The machine almost immediately started powering up, which it took an incredible amount of energy, almost the equivalent of the power generated by 2 Nuclear power plants in one day. About 3 minutes later, the machine was fully charged, and ready for the portal to be opened.
"Well then, sir, the machine is ready for the portal to open." Ivanov said to Stalin, after the machine was done powering up. "Would you like to do the honors?"
Stalin said nothing, and just walked over to the control panel, where on the screen, there were two options. One was to activate the portal generation sequence, the other was to deactivate the activation sequence. Stalin pushed the option to start the portal generation sequence, and the machine responded by making a loud humming noise, and then the portal started being made.
"HOLY SHIT!" Ivanov exclaimed, "That actually worked! I thought it was going to blow up or something but it worked!"
The machine had just finished generating it's portal, and Stalin looked toward the portal, and said, "Well men, let us go!" The entire party of troops and important officers started heading toward the portal, while the scientists stayed back.
