A/N: It's been bugging me! I had to do this. winces Tsunade's POV

The Past Repeated

I couldn't stop it back then. Every time it rains I think of you Dan, that fateful night. History repeats itself in the cruelest ways. Twice in a lifetime is more that enough. There was the time my apprentice went through the same thing.

They were in the forest when Captain Hyuga rushed in to my office and warned me.

"Hokage-sama, There's an emergency our team was ambushed by Sound and Sakura-san needs your help!"

My eyes widened and I ran out towards the gate where they were only about a mile away from.

When I got there many ANBU were beat up pretty bad, and my assistant was trying to run back and fourth to constantly try to help each one.

"Sakura! Go help Naruto I'll take care of them"

While I was healing my other patients I witnessed the scene in front of me.

"NARUTO-KUN!!!"

"S-Sakura-c-chan…I can't die yet…there's…so much I still…have to do" he whispered coughing up blood.

"It's okay Naruto-kun…I stopped the bleeding" she said softly. It was obvious she was shaking by the way her voice quivered and her shoulder shook violently. I know it was raining, but I didn't think that was even half the reason.

"That's…good" he said with his fox like grin.

As his eyes started to seal closed she pushed more chakra out here hands.

"STAY WITH ME! STAY WITH ME! STAY WITH ME!" she yelled at the top of her lungs.

Her chakra started to short out and she kept trying to push the rest of it out.

I could see myself and Dan. Those exact words…they tore me apart. But I wouldn't let it happen again.

"THAT'S ENOUGH SAKURA! YOU'RE GONE KILL YOURSELF IF YOU HAVE NO CHAKRA LEFT!"

"I DON'T CARE!" she sobbed.

Then she gasped when she realized no chakra would come out of her hands anymore.

She looked up to me, watching as I healed her best friend.

"Thank you Tsunade-Shishou" she said before falling limp beside him.

They are both fine now. I had another ANBU squad and some medics help out. That was years ago and now they have a child. I'm afraid that the same thing might happen to them, but even though events in history repeat itself, it's good to know that they don't always have to end the same way.
