Gluttony
They had always had much more than enough ever since he could remember from when he was still a very young child. His mother's many husbands always took care to leave them gracious sums of money if not all their money as well as their vaults in their wills. A single one of his mother's many husbands, even the poorest one would be able to support the entirety of the brood of blood traitors that lived in that crooked house that looked like it was solely held up my magic and perhaps even their extended family for the rest of their lives.
It was surprising no muggles had noticed that odd looking house yet, he thought wryly as an image of the building came to mind from a time long past when they had first moved to England. Mother had wanted to show him the families that would be useful to them and those who would not. She had sneered when they had come upon that house.
They had gotten the Manor they currently lived in fairly recently. A gift from one of his mother's husband's before he had married her. He was three husbands or so ago.
It was much larger than their last Manor that had been closer to London and the city than this one. Perhaps his mother had wanted to have more space to do what she wanted and no nosy neighbours. He hoped this manor would satisfy his mother for at least a couple of years. Hopefully until he finished Hogwarts. It was incredibly annoying to move at the end of every year as they had done for the few years before Hogwarts when the husbands had died at a truly frightening rate.
But his mother had had seven husbands. Each richer than the last as his mother had always aimed higher than she did the previous time.
He doubted his mother would ever be satisfied with the position and power he husband held if she had not found satisfaction in the last seven.
He doubted his mother even knew who his father was. She had so many husbands. Those seven were only the ones that had been well known and rich or so his mother had sometimes told him. There had been many before the husbands that had made her well known. He had not bothered to question her further or ever ask her about who his father was after that.
Ignorance was bliss after all, especially in his case. He did not want to know how all his "step-fathers" had mysteriously met their ends. His mother probably had something to do with it. She had a sadistic streak to her that no one but the two of them knew about. Perhaps he had inherited it too.
He had what he needed. It did not matter much to him whether his mother felt the same or not. That was her problem not his. She could deal with the consequences.
Blaise snorted softly to himself as his mother floated around the Manor, getting ready for the next ball after her recent husband's death.
Getting ready to look for a new suitor that would almost definitely end up being her husband.
A new rich man to catch.
