The Mysterious Boxes
The Boxes is a book about Annie a 15 year – old girl who lives with her mom's brother, and sister, her Aunt Ruth and Uncle Marco. Her aunt and uncle don't get along at all, and Annie only gets along with her Uncle Marco, who is rarely home. He is always off doing mysterious things.
One day before her uncle was about to leave, he went to Annie and told her he had a big responsibility for her. He told her all about these to boxes that she should never look in, or tells anyone about it. Annie accepted the responsibility and kept one box is her closet and the other in her cellar; both are places her aunt would never go. Before he left he told Annie to make sure that her aunt didn't sell to Crutchley Development, a creepy Development company who wants them and Annie's friend Henry to sell their homes to build a mall.
One day Annie's curiosity got the best of her; she crept downstairs and snuck into the basement, to take a peek in the boxes. When she finally got the wooden box opened a crab like creature scurried across the room. Horrified Annie piled magazines to keep the box closed so other creatures couldn't get out, and snuck back upstairs. She started to have nightmare about what she did, but she knew she couldn't tell anyone.
Crutchley called every once in a while about them selling the house but Annie would just say her aunt is unavailable.
Annie started worrying about the creatures and she would get headaches. And one day Henry noticed and asked what was wrong. Annie told him everything that happened but she said it was only a dream. Annie looked in her closet were one of the boxes were , ad there was propellers inside that moved slightly , and there were root like things clinging to the sides of the box. After closing
