Summary: Jou's alone for his birthday, guess who shows up?

AN: Well for my birthday I thought I'd give you guys a fic
So I hope you'll like it ;D Though it's VERY, VERY short... when I
thought it up at 1.30 am it seemed longer...and better--;; but
then again it always sounds better in my head then when i type it...

Jou was sitting on the couch watching TV. Today was his birthday,
but none of his friends were there. Yugi, Yami and his grandfather
were in Egypt. So were Malik and Marik.

Ryou and Bakura were in England and Honda was visiting his family.
His mother wouldn't allow Shizuka to come over and Otogi was on a
business trip.

And Kaiba Seto? Well, he got an invitation, but like he would show
up.

Yeah right Jou, Dream on.' He thought to himself.

There was nothing interesting to watch on TV, so Jou just lied down
on the couch and fell asleep shortly after.

Sometime later, Jou woke up at the sound of someone knocking on his
door.

He sat up and rubbed his eyes.

Again he heard knocking.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm coming," he yelled.

He walked to the door and opened it. He was just about to say what
do you want' when his jaw hit the ground.

"K-K-Kaiba?" He stammered.

"Yes, now are you gonna let me in or not?" Kaiba answered.

Jou stepped aside and let Kaiba in.

"Uh…Take a seat on the couch," he said, pointing at the couch. "Do
you want some coffee?"

Jou asked, walking into the kitchen.

"Yes, please." Kaiba sat down. He looked around the room. There
wasn't much to look at; grey carpet, white walls, brown drapes, a
worn couch, an old coffee table and a TV were all there was.

Jou walked back into the room holding two steaming mugs of coffee in
his hands. He sat down next to Kaiba and set one of the cups in
front of him on the small coffee table.

They sat quietly for a while until Kaiba suddenly
said, "Congratulations, Jou."

Jou looked up into his eyes. Kaiba held out his hand to congratulate
him.

Jou with his eyes still locked on Kaiba's took it. Slowly their
faces moved closer until their lips touched. It was only for a few
seconds until they realized what they were doing. They immediately
pulled back.

"I have to go," Kaiba said hurriedly. "Here."

He gave Jou a present and walked out the door. Jou stared at the
door for a little while then looked at the present Kaiba had given
him, It was wrapped in icy blue paper with a sapphire ribbon tied
around it. He carefully pulled the ribbon and the paper off to
reveal a little statue of a Blue eyes and a Red eyes lying entwined
together on a rock with flowers around them.

Well,' Jou thought, tomorrow in school will be interesting. I'll
have to thank Kaiba.' He smiled; this day wasn't as bad as he
thought it would be. No, it was a great day.

And tomorrow it would be even better.
