Never Let It End This Way
"My god…how did I not see this? Why didn't you tell me?!"
"B-Because I was scared…"
"Scared of what?!"
"How you would react…"
He was furious at the secret that she kept well hidden for so long, how blind could he have been not to the signs.
He didn't speak. "Oliver, please talk to me…"
"I can't deal with this right now…" With that, he grabbed his jacket and was out the half way out the door when his girlfriend of two years stopped him.
"No, I'll leave, you stay." Hermione said, took her coat of the rack and left.
It was better that she left, who knows what he would of done. He furiously threw his jacket against the wall and slumped down into the nearest couch.
He was leaning on the arm rest, his right hand was in a fist shape where he rested his chin. His left laid on his thigh and his leg moving up and down rapidly.
He sat the for a good thirty minutes but he just couldn't think around here. Everything in this flat reminding him of her and he just didn't need that at the moment. So he got up and apparated to the first place that came to his mind.
"Wood? What are you doing here?" Harry asked.
"Did you know?!" Oliver questioned.
"Did I know what?"
"That she was…"
"Oh, that…"
He closed his eyes to hold back the tears. "H-How long?"
"You should talk to her…"
"Harry. How long?" He said more firm this time.
Harry hesitantly answered. "F-For a while now…"
Oliver was speechless, he was lost of words and just broke down crying. "W-Why? H-How could s-she?"
Harry didn't know exactly how to comfort his friend and all he could say was, "Things happen for a reason…you know mate."
"What reason is that?!" He yelled.
"…Look Wood, I'm sorry that you had to hear…that, but maybe you should just go home and talk to her."
"I can't talk to her, not now."
"Why not?"
"She kept this from me for so long! You know how much it hurts when the one you love has lied to you all this time?"
"Look Oliver. I know this is hard for you to accept, but this is Hermione we're talking about here. Talk to her, talk about this. You'll feel better. Trust me."
"I-I'm just not ready…"
"She wasn't ready for it either, but she had to except the fact that it happened."
Oliver just nodded and apparated back to the flat. But when he returned, he saw something that he never wanted to see.
