Hey guys..(people throw moktov's at me) HEY! I know you guys might be mad at me for starting a new story so early, putting a story on hiatus and only going to be able to post one chapter before summer. Heck, I don't know why I am starting a story so early. I think I have a story itch. IT MUST BE TAMED! Before you ask, how was my Owain impression?

I don't own anything but my OC

A warm blue pulse emitted from the strange anomaly, disturbing but welcoming in the Alaskan weather. I sat on a stump of a pillar, taking notes of the ruins I was in. Most of the notes was on the what looks like a portal in front of me. This strange thing wasn't on any records, so a archeologist like myself felt two things. I felt sheer happiness, since I might have made a brand new discovery and pride for my large, but empty state. Yeah, I'm Alaskan. And I hate the cold like the next person. It was heaven when I went to college for a degree in archeology, since I actually got to see the real world. I made friends in my roommates, (yes plural, there was like 5 of us in one apartment) and they all got me into Fire emblem. Well, mostly from FE1 to 12 since I didn't like the graphics of the 3ds games for some reason and s-supports uggh. The notes I had were getting pretty good, so I deiced to put my notebook away and pull out my ds, which I carried at all times. I was currently replaying my favorite Fe game, mystery of the emblem? Ugh I don't know. It was 30 bucks on Ebay.

Best. Thirty. Bucks. Spent.

I seriously loved this game. It was awesome! I was what on the 3rd let's play? I don't know. I was also really bad at names, only ones I remember are Marth, Tiki and Anna. Yeah, I am terrible nerd. I don't even know the name of the main villain because I skip dialogue. Also it was in Japanese. I never bothered to get the English modified version. I needed to feel stupid as a 21 year old archeologist, like myself. Wait, I just realized I never told you my name. Hi, my name is Matthew, but every one calls me Matt. If I remember correctly, a Fire emblem dude shared my name. Bad thing is that it was a 3ds game, and I hate those. I dust of the powdered snow that was forming on my head as it started snowing. My brown hair was free from the evil snow, my green eyes analyzing the black cover of my ds. I yawned, bored out of my mind, I had a weird habit of sleeping in really late and I was happy that old habits don't die. That's when I felt it. A urge. An urge to go to the "portal". The feeling was welcoming but disturbing at the same time. It is like meeting a long lost uncle that your parents refuse to talk about because of reasons. I put the ds back in the bag and I take of the bag, taking it over my shoulder and setting down on the pillar I was just sitting on. I walk to the portal slowly, the crunch of the snow breaks the silence. I stand about 3 feet from the gate or portal, whatever. There was carving I never seen before written on the wall. It states, "A way to many worlds, the outrealm gate is for those who want to leave their live behind." Wow, nice jumanji reference. I wonder if jumanji got it's famous line from this. I highly doubt it. This place doesn't look like anyone has been here in like at least over a decade. Which is a incredibly a short time. I didn't feel it at first but my clothes had a slight tug to them, pulling myself towards the gate. I stick my hand in, out of curiosity. The feeling I felt when I stuck my hand in was well weird. I felt strong and at the same time like I was shoving my hand through half way done jello, not solid nor a liquid. I brace for the worst and pull my hand out. it was still in tact but it still had the weird feeling. I brave another go, this time my hand didn't come out. I panicked only to fail horror movie Blob number one rule.

Never try to pry your hand out with your other hand.

Soon I had 2 hands stuck in the portal, and the portal was pulling me in. Is this what Alan felt in the original Jumanji? Yes, I find the 1995 one better than the newer one. I like the game coming out, not the other way around, thank you very much. Right the portal. Soon my legs were sucked in, a cold feeling emitting from all parts of my body, then like that scene in that dog romance movie made by Disney that completely forgot the name of, I was sucked up like a wet noodle.

The experience was weird to say that, it was over as soon as started. After I went out the other side, all I felt was a sharp pain all over my head and wind rushing around my body at top speeds, then...

PLUMMPFF

"Lady Tiki, are you alright? It is uncommon for you to wake up by yourself." A black haired woman stated her concerns to her friend. Her friend nodded her off and told her "I feel as if, he has returned after all these millennia." Say'ri under stood what her friend meant. She has told her tales of her long lost brother, one that wasn't raised in this outrealm."Lady Tiki, forgive my rude behavior but I have misplaced the name of your brother. May you tell me again?" Her friend was walking to her "bed" if you can call a stone slab a bed here. She get's comfortable and speaks to her.

"His name is Kayden. Say'ri can you promise me that if you find my brother, you direct him to me, please?"

"You have my word, Lady Tiki."

Ugh, my everything hurts. I open my eyes, having them readjust to the bright light's I felt on my eyes. I look around and I appear to be in a medical room? Not like hospital kind but like the Harry potter kind of medical ward. Beds were evenly spaced out, in rows. The walls were a light brown texture, with a few cracks here and there. The source of light for the room was candles at every other bed. My bed didn't have one but it was quite bright. I sit up, getting a better view of the room. I see what appears to be healing staffs from Fire emblem, most be props. I continue looking until I find a door. the door it self was blocked by a man, who I guess was watching me. He was tall to say the least, and very strong looking. He looked like a medieval Nick fury, with a large sword that was long and wicked looking, as menacing. It was curved, with a sort of like at a 10 degree angle. It's blade was similar to the top of a dragon wing, with a black and red tint all over. The thing was the blade looked so real. "I see your awake dragon born." Dragon born? He is funny, right? "Umm.. sir what are you talking about?" I say nervously. Something tells me that sword might be a wyrmslayer. But I shouldn't fear the wyrmslayer right? He laughs like a Santa wannabe. He nods to a mirror on a stand, picks up his wyrmslayer and walks out.

I fling my legs over the edge, setting my bare feet on the cold ground. The cold ground sent shivers up my spine and neck. I try to stand, but I stumble. My feet were asleep so yay. I slam my feet against the ground to wake them up. Once they are finally awake, I wobble over to the mirror, wincing in pain with every step. My body was in such pain. What even happened? The mirror wasn't to far away now. Why did I need the mirror exactly? My hands reach for the mirror and I position it to my face.

Smash!

I looked at the broken mirror at my feet. I run (Read: speed hobble) to a bowl of water, to see if what I saw in the mirror was really me. The bowl of water in the corner was in my reach, and I look in the reflective water. I see what I saw in the mirror. What I saw was me with some changes. I pull down my hair to see it went from brown to a shade of green. Startling but cool. What worried me was the other change.

I now had long, pointy ears.

God, am I an elf? I hope not. I also hope I didn't shrink. I wasn't blessed on the size scale growing up. Why did this happen? Why do I look like a guy from lord of the rings or something? Why did that guy have a wrymslayer? I observed the room, for answers but I saw nothing. All I saw was the broken glass of the mirror. I realized I just broke something of my hosts so I decided to help them by cleaning that up. It was some host with rights stuff, right? Ugh, curse my helpful nature. I didn't have anything to clean it up, so I took a chance and used my hands.

It ended very badly.

I barely got any f it picked up before I had bloody hands. I never liked the sight of my blood since it could get infected and that would suck. There was so much blood, it was over flowing in my hands. I got up and grabbed some bandages I found. I clean my cuts and wrap them up. I head back to the mess, to see someone cleaning it. The person was familiar somehow. They had short navy blue hair, with blue attire. At there side was a sheath with a red hilted sword, with a red sheath. The person noticed my staring and they turned to me, allowing me to see that they are warring a blue butterfly mask. But more edgy. The man, I assume addressed me with a blush, "I have been here to inform you that you will receive training and will fight on the behalf of Khan Basilio in the tournament as repayment for your hospitality." He said quickly, in a monotone voice. Weird. "Thank you.." wait, I didn't now this persons name. "Marth" He blurted out and ran away. There was a headband on the ground, so I pick it up and cover my ears with them and tie it back. I quickly realize something. His name is Marth. Wait, am I in Fire emblem? Sweet. That person though was really shy, I wonder why. Well, if I am in fire emblem I know really ripped men don't liked to be kept waiting.

Oh naga, Oh naga, I spoke to him! When did I become this shy around other Shepherds besides Dad and aunt Lissa? At least brother was decent at this. Well more with woman. I get mom's insurcity around new faces, but he was the most difficult. I know his status in the future, but I never saw him before he died! I didn't expect him to be like that!

The next few days were VERY difficult. We woke up at around sunrise and did exercises until breakfast then we sword trained until dinner were we would spar after words. It was difficult, did I mention that? We learned that I truly wasn't a dragon, thank god because I told them I was never a dragon before in my life. We just agreed it was a side effect of using the outrealm gate, which exists here. On the other side of the world... I was happy I lived with only a few injuries. Balisio is nice but very tough and I respect him for that. He also had an apprentice of a man named Lon'qu, who from what I heard had a fear of woman and his fomer champion after he was beat by Marth, the man that helped me earlier. I have learned a lot from both Balisio and Lon'qu. Balisio was nice like I said before, he pushed me enough not to hurt me but not enough so I didn't break a sweat. He was surprisingly funny. Lon'qu was like a silent young Yoda type. I often found him meditating. I tried to strike up a conversation with him, only to get a few words from him. I found out he is valmesse, what ever that means. I found out more about where exactly I am. I'm apparently in a place that is a fusion between Canada and Sparta. I also had to familiarize myself with the tournament. There was one main event between the two champions, that would be between Marth and what the east Khan chose. There was smaller matches and I would be fighting in the last one. Lucky me. I didn't know what to expect of my opponent but I hope he/she wasn't like a warrior that has been training with a blade since the could lift there heads. While I have only been using a sword since 9 days ago. I counted the days, pushing myself more and more.

My head band hopefully hid my ears, but it felt unnatural. They were very sensitive that I have seen. A slight touch will be sending chills down my spine. Squeeze them or pull them? Yeah no. My fellow fighters took our stands while I observed the group opposite of the tournament. There was many faces of course and many classes. I saw a mage, maybe a Pegasus knight, a fighter, cavaliers, a Knight, a healer and what looks like a tactician. The man's eyes darted all over the place, maybe observing the surrounding area. He might be participating, he might be my opponent. The champions of each sides were absent. I didn't see the east champion but I heard rumors that it was the prince of southern country of Ylisse, hoping to win a alliance for a war. "WELCOME ALL TO THE 239TH KHAN TOURNAMENT!" A man's booming voice roared over the crowds. I grip my ears, having increased hearing. I have terrible luck. Screw that mirror. "NOW FOR THE MAIN EVENT!" Marth steps out of our side and the other champion does so also. He was interesting to say the least. He also had navy blue hair like marth, he wore silver boots, a blue general shirt if you could call it that, also a red sheath on his back, a metal shoulder pad on his left shoulder, and a white cape. He didn't have a sleeve on his right arm, which is weird in this climate. They drew there swords, both being identical. They race at each other, weapons clashing. I never seen Marth really fight. He was attempting to do a chip damage play while the other champion was striking hard and fast. Marth's reflexes were amazing. He was dodging, flipping and doing really painful looking bends. The other champion jumped up and the air in did a sonic spin dash to him, with his blade like a fin. What was interesting was their fighting style. It was near identical, but marths was faster. He continued his on slaughter but something happened. Marth just froze up when he looked up here. The other champion took advantage of this and he slashed down wards and Marth was sent flying backwards. "AND THE WINNER FOR THE 238TH KHAN TOURNAMENT IS KHAN FLAVIA! NOW LET THE OTHER MATCHS COMISE."

Sigh You can do this Matt. Last match is right now and you can win this. Put all of your training into this moment. I readjust my head band, not wanting my ears to fall out. The crowd was cheering, not as much as previous matches due to the fact they were tired. I could blame them. I am always tired. A yawn escapes my mouth. I am going to bed after this. The gates open and I step out.

This is what it looks like inside of the arena. Well, it is bigger than I saw from up there. I look to the other side to see my opponent. I'm fighting the tactician dude. This isn't going to go well. His appearance was weird, like mine. He had brown leather boots, a weird belt, bleached color shirt and a long black and purple cloak. He had white hair too.

"So your my opponent? Your green hair is peculiar. What is your name?"

"My name is Matthew, yours?"

"Robin."

"Well Robin, we can finish this on the battlefield." I draw my bronze sword, well borrowed bronze sword. He draws a tome out, great. It's green so I guess it's a wind tome. I need to close the gap between us. I run towards him and I slash to the right. He side steps and switch's to a bronze sword. HE CAN USE SWORDS AND TOMES? That is cool. He slashes at me and I counter. I thrust left, hoping he would dodge there. He does dodge left but it was too short, for I only graze him. He steps back and uppercuts slash ad it hits me. It hurt like a mother trucker and it cut my forehead a little bit. The usual cheering of the crowd stopped suddenly and I knew why because I felt it. you know that feeling when your feet come out of your socks and all you feel is coldness? Well I felt that on my ears meaning he cut my head band off. I look up with a fire in my eyes. Robin was in shock and stepped back, scared of my appearance. I run very quickly and slash at his chest, a nasty cut. He falls and I won. The crowd erupts in cheers, while I ran out of the crowds view.

"You played well boys." The ex-leading Khan Balisio stated. My chest from my fight with Matthew was still incredibly sore. "Hey Balisio can you tell me about Matthew? And Marth when you are done?" Matthew was interesting and so was Marth. He had the same sword as Chrom, same fighting style and is apparently shy. Which is weird for a strong swordsman to be shy. "Well, Marth is a better one to explain. He just showed up and bet my previous Champion, Lon'qu. And when his match was over he just left. Now Matthew I don't know how to explain." He rubbed the back of his head, trying to think. "Is he a manakete?" Chrom asked. I never heard of what a manakete was but it does sound interesting. "Well, no. we think his appearance is a side effect of using a outrealm gate. In fact.." He turned and yelled for Lon'qu and Matthew. They come over, I my chest hurts just looking at Matthew. "They can join you." He wants to give us Matthew and Lon'qu? Weird. "Are you sure about this, Chrom?" He nods.

"Tell me more about yourselves."

"You give orders, I stab people."

"I'll help any way I can, now I am going to bed." Matthew turns and walks to sleeping quarters, I presume.

"Welcome to the shepherds!"

So the shepherds? This is were my life takes me? Interesting. I have met some weird people. Those are my last thoughts when I slide in bed, my thoughts sluggish.

Yay the first chapter of Dragonborn is done. I hinted at a lot of things that will happen in the future but the story won't be updated for a while, maybe. I just hope that you guys will support my discions I made.
