It was a normal day for me, Lauren O'Kane.. I was on my way to grab a packet of gummy bears from the shop when I seen my best friend, Aimee Gill, across the street. I run across and jump on her back, "guess who" I question.
She laughs and pretends to be clueless for a second before exclaiming "Could it be Lauren?" I see a small smirk grow on her face as I groan and jump off her back, "how'd you know?" I whine, a little smile showing on my face. we walk slowly, messing around as usual, nothing different. I hear Aimee start to say "so... how are you?" but she cuts herself off as she sees her girlfriend Brinley. She turns to me, looking quite guilty "you'll have to third wheel now" she chuckles as she walks towards Brinley. "that's fine" I mutter as I follow behind her. She kisses her girlfriends lips then pulls away, "baby, I'm going out with Lauren" I look up and start to protest saying, "Aimee no. It's okay, we can go out another day" Aimee just tuts and shakes her head as Brinley says her goodbyes and walks away. I pout and groan "Aimeeeeeeeeeeeee! I feel really bad now" she just chuckles and gives me a daring look "Lauren its fine, I can interact with her any time" she winks at me as I chuckle softly and hide my face in my hands, looking up at her with soft eyes as she carefully removes my hands from my face while saying "don't hide that beautiful face of yours" I suddenly crave her lips on mine so I lean in, biting my lip before planting a small kiss on her lips, surprised when I feel her kiss back. she smiles as she pulls away, I look at her, eyes wide "shit... Aims I'm so so sorry" Aimee looks at me and laughs gently "Don't tell Brinley" she looks around nervously and I keep my head down "I won't"
The day goes on, me falling for Aimee every second but not realising it.. or not for a little while anyway. Before we left the movies we shared one last kiss, this time a little more intense. I suddenly pull away and start to walk, Aimee walks behind me, asking what's wrong but I just keep muttering, "I just cant tell you Aimee! it would ruin everything!" After a while she gives up, "Whatever, Lauren" she rolls her eyes and sulkily walks away.
I run out after her "Wait! Aimee...I-I think I'm in love with you..." I bite my lip, waiting for a reaction.
I can't quite catch any of the many emotions that flicker on her face, but then she starts to speak...
