Bella and Eddy were at Bella's house, each doing their own thing on their phones. Bella was nearly five months pregnant (as was Andie). Bella was scrolling through Tumblr when something interesting caught her eye.
"Hey Eddy, check this out," She said, handing him her phone. He looked at the phone and read aloud the article.
"Gender Reveal Cakes are a fun and tasty way to find out the gender of your unborn child," He read, "The cake is frosted white, but when it's cut into, the cake itself is pink or blue, depending on the gender of your baby. A fun way to surprise your friends and/or the parents! Hey, that sounds like fun."
"Yeah, we could do it," Bella said, "There's a bakery not far from here; if we take a slip of paper with the baby's gender, then even we can be surprised!"
"Yeah, I think that'd be cool," Eddy smiled, "So you wanna do it?"
"Of course," Bella beamed, "It'll be so much fun!"
Bella and Eddy were at the hospital, getting ready for Bella's ultrasound. They had already planned out how they were going to do the Gender Reveal Cake.
"Ok, are you ready to know if the baby is a boy or girl?" The doctor asked afterwards.
"Actually, we already have a plan in mind," Eddy said, "If you could just write the gender here and put it in this envelope, that would be awesome."
"Well alright then," The doctor said. He wrote something on the slip of paper and sealed it in the envelope. He handed it back to Eddy, "Here you go."
"Grazie mille," Bella said.
A few days later the two of them entered the bakery.
"Hello, how may I help you?" The man at the counter asked.
"We have a special request," Bella explained. She handed him two envelopes. She had been able to convince Andie to do the Gender Reveal Cake as well.
"We need two cakes," Eddy said, "Both with white frosting. But the insides have to be colored depending on the genders in these envelopes."
"You know, pink for girl and blue for boy," Bella clarified.
"You got it," The man said, taking the two labeled envelopes.
At the baby shower…
Bella and Andie were both having a baby shower together. All the kids were there (though they weren't really kids anymore) at the party, which was held at Eddy's house. Edd and Andie sat together on one end of the couch, while Bella and Eddy sat at the other end. Everyone was talking and chatting when Nazz silenced the room.
"Hey everybody, it's that time," She announced. She was holding two boxes, "We have the cakes here, and we're so, like, excited to find out the gender of the babies! How rad!"
She set the cakes down on the table. One box was labeled 'Eddy+Bella' and the other was labeled 'Edd+Andie.' Each couple took their respective cake and opened the box. Sitting inside each one was a white-frosted cake. Eddy and Edd took out the cakes and set them on two plates. Ed handed Bella and Andie each a knife and they cut a slice out of the cake. When the slices were removed, it was revealed that the inside of each cake was pink.
"We're gonna have girls!" Bella and Andie squealed, holding hands. The crowd cheered and they started on opening presents.
"So what are you gonna name them?" Jimmy asked.
"Well, I've always liked the name Izzy as a name," Bella said.
"I'm thinking Ryland for mine," Andie said.
"Aw, those are cute names," Ed cooed.
