Like fleeting nights, that silver
Was always something to remember.
A spot of red upon the moon.
Our moments brief, ended too soon.
Such pretty words were never heard
Like "I love you" and "I'm sorry",
But through those eyes
They were brought to life
With such sincerity it frightened me.
Twin golden orbs spoke so clearly
"I have no one here to love me."

"I will love you!" my heart would cry
Every time I glimpsed reddened eyes.
I felt such passion with each embrace,
Friendly in nature, but leaving tastes
Of what might be and could be;
Of what I want to be despite thee.
So unwilling it's disheartening,
A rotten-smelling body
The competition, by admission.

I know, I know, by discouraged glow,
You've instigated row upon row,
But no matter your determination
The pitter-patter of my heart
Pitter-patters for no one
Except wonderful, glorious,
Gorgeous and stupendous
You, by my own volition.
