Stargirl. I miss her so much. I miss her smile, her kindness, her laughter. And now she's gone. She moved away. I wished I had never asked her to be normal. She was perfect the way she was and she changed for me. Me, Leo Borlock. One day I found a present out on my doorstep on my 28th birthday. It was a porcupine necktie. There was no card but I knew who it was from. It was from Stargirl.

I have just got out of college and I am now a set designer. I got out of bed and got ready to go to work. As I waked in Mr. Tike, my boss asked to help a new employee out with her work. "She's very enthusiastic and very happy to work here," he said, "so would you please help her get comfortable?"

"Sure, Mr. Tike I'll be happy to."

"Thanks, Leo"

Mr. Tike told me that the new employee was downstairs on the main floor. She stood there saying to people "hello there" or "good day, huh?"

She reminded me of someone but I couldn't put my finger on it.

"Hi there, Leo!" she said.

"S-Stargirl!" I exclaimed. "Is that really you?"

"The one and only!" I ran up to her and embraced her. I was so happy to see her.

"So Leo, how much have I missed since I moved away?" she said.

"Well, my parents are well and I have a great job."

"That's great! I'm doing well too and I have a job here now. So can you show me around, Leo? That way I can know where's where."

"Sure" I said. I showed her where the bathrooms were, the lunch room, the main floors, the boss's office, her office, my office, ect. We both got to work. Then it we got out of work at 6. I asked Stargirl if she wanted to have dinner at my house.

"You have a house already! Wow! I only live in an apartment!" Stargirl said as she got all bouncy. I chuckled. This was the Stargirl I knew.

"Yes I do have a house of my own. So what do you want to eat spaghetti or chicken?"

"Spaghetti please."

We ate dinner and talked. She said that she finished high school at a school called Meadow High and went to college at Harvard University and now she lives here in an apartment in Los Angeles.

"Hey do you want to watch a movie cause it's only 7 o'clock?" I asked.

"Yea, sure what kind of movie do you have?"

"Hmm….what about this?" It was The Lion King.

"Oh! I love this movie! It was my favorite when I was little!" she exclaimed.

We watched the movie. It was at the part where Simba found Nala, his long time friend and love. I looked at Stargirl. She looked like a five year old as she watched with delight. Then she turned to me. "What?" she said puzzled.

"You just look so cute when you were watching the movie," I said. Stargirl blushed.

"Stargirl?"

"Yes, Leo?"

"Um…did you…um…have a boyfriend… while you were at Meadow High… or Harvard?" I said blushing.

"No I didn't" Stargirl said.

"Really? Why?"

"Because I love you" she said quietly.

"I love you too, Stargirl." I said. Stargirl looked up. I sat closer to her. "I loved you always ever since you I met you and even when you left." And the remaining space we had left was gone as our lips touched. Stargirl snaked her arms around my neck and deepened the kiss. We parted and smiled at each other.
