"I wrote down all our memories and placed them in this envelope. All the moments since we first met. Every single sweet little lie that you told me. Every single memory that I once cherished. Every memory that I took as you falling for me as well. Each moment that I replayed over and over until I convinced myself that I changed your womanizing ways. Not just the memories that I had with you but memories that I had with others that led me to believe that you could change…and that you did.

Each memory that led me to fall deeper and deeper in love with you…and those moments that followed: the heartbreak, the indifference, and the passing looks. All of those memories and more. I've been trying for weeks to fix our broken friendship, to try to rebuild your trust in me, to stop thinking about you, to do something in an attempt to return to our old ways, and to erase all lingering feelings towards you.

All of those attempts have failed, so here I am. I wrote this in hopes that by putting my feelings down on paper, I won't feel them anymore, and I'm hoping that by hiding this envelope, I'll forget about these memories and feelings therefore forgetting about you."

Dawn gently put her pen down on her bed. She took a deep breath and stared at the envelope in front of her. She stared at her round handwriting on the simple paper and exhaled. It hurt, but it was the right thing to do. She glanced at her phone, checking the time, and grabbed another piece of loose-leaf paper and being writing her feelings.
