"You don't believe me?" Jace asked. "Fine. Go ahead. Kiss me right now."

Alec stared at him in horror.

"Exactly. Despite my staggering good looks, you actually don't like me in-" He was cut of by Alec's soft lips pressing against his. Shock rang through Jace's body but he didn't move, just stood statue still until Alec pulled away, his cheeks a fire-red and his blue eyes cast down onto the floor. "Is it how you expected?" He kept his voice calm and remote, not betraying any emotion.

"I... I'm sorry... I just... I didn't—" he stammered on, his breath heavy.

"Love makes us liars." Jace watched as the red slowly disappeared from his cheeks. "Talk to Magnus."

His head finally turned up and his soft blue eyes rested on him "But I-"

"Stop trying to convince yourself. How can you talk to me about lying about how I feel when you do it too?"

Alec looked a bit hurt, but Jace couldn't stop to comfort the boy. He needed the truth. Even if the truth was harsh.

He took his jacket and shrugging it on. "Sort out your feeling Alec. If you wait to long it might be to late." He walked to the door.

"Where are you going?"

"To get Simon." He said, pausing right in the middle of the doorway. "If anyone asks where I am, tell them I'm not feeling well. Tell them I felt faint and tripped, and that's how the window got broken." Before Alec could agree or protest he was gone, leaving him to wallow in his own mixed feelings.

It was going to be a long night.
