"YOU WON'T GET AWAY!" Katsuki shouted as sparks exploded from his hands.
The villain laughed, using his quirk to turn invisible.
"We'll see about that," the villain replied. Katsuki cursed, spinning around to find where the villain had disappeared to. Then out of the corner of his eye, he saw the glint of a blade in the scorching sun, and a flash of a mop of green hair he'd known all his life. He ran as fast as he could, but there was no way he was going to get there in time.
'NO!" he screamed, "DEKU RUN!'. Green met crimson eyes as Deku felt cold spread from his stomach all around his body. He screamed aloud in pain and fell forward, expecting the cold, unforgiving concrete to connect with his head, but instead, a warm, solid body held him up. When he felt flushes of cold and hot, he opened his eyes to see Todoroki fighting against the villain they'd been chasing all day. He turned his head to look at who caught him and found himself staring into the deep crimson eyes he'd known his whole life. Deku lifted his hand and cradled Katsuki's cheek, feeling the tears spill from his eyes. Katsuki frantically looked over Deku for where the wound was. He placed a hand over Deku's stomach, applying pressure to try to stop the blood as much as possible.
Deku winced and whispered, "I'm sorry.." over and over again.
"What are you apologising for?" Katsuki said, scanning Deku's eye for the emotions that always showed themselves, but only finding emptiness.
"I'm sorry Kacchan," he whispered, trying his best to smile, "I'm sorry for leaving you".
"Don't say that, we're going to get you to a hospital just hold on," Katsuki said, looking for his phone so he could dial 911.
"You shouldn't look so worried," Deku said, placing a hand over Katsuki's, "it doesn't suit you".
"You damn nerd," Katsuki whispered, stroking Deku's hair, "you can't leave me, there's still so much we have to do together". Katsuki leaned down and gently brushed his lips against Deku's.
"I know," Deku said, "I'm sorry".
"Stop apologising, everything's going to be okay," Katsuki said, feeling his own eyes well up with tears that were threatening to spill any second.
"Don't cry," Deku said, wiping a stray tear away from Katsuki's cheeks, "it's going to be fine".
"I know, I know," Katsuki said, cradling Deku, not wanting to let him go.
"Just promise me you won't get hung up over me, I'm not worth it, just let go, live your life," Deku said, looking straight into Katsuki's eyes.
"What are you saying?" Katsuki said, brows furrowed in confusion.
"Please just promise!" Deku half shouted, needing Katsuki to say he would so he could finally let go.
"I'll never say yes to that you damn nerd, you're the only one I've ever wanted, the only one I'll ever want. If I can't have you, I don't want anyone," Katsuki said, pressing his forehead against Deku's. Deku sniffled and pressed his lips against Katsuki's as he heard the ambulance in the background, the sound drowning out everything else.
Katsuki would give anything to hear Deku say his name, just one more time.
