Trip to the Pound
Annie Camden was in the station wagon on her way to the market. Remembering her 10 year old son Simon's request for a dog, she decided to stop by the pound on the way.
When she reached the pound, she quickly found a parking spot and parked the station wagon. Then she got out, headed for the pound, and entered the building.
"May I help you?" the receptionist asked when Annie entered the pound.
"Yes, do you have any dogs?" Annie asked.
The receptionist gave Annie directions to the dog section. Annie thanked the receptionist and headed for the dog area.
Annie was walking through the dog area of the pound carefully looking at each dog. Eventually, she saw one that caught her eye. This dog had cute brown eyes and long white fur. Just then, the vet came in, spotted Annie, and walked over to her.
"May I help you?" the vet asked.
"I'm just looking for a dog for my son but I'm not planning to get the dog today," Annie replied.
"That's too bad."
"What do you mean by that?"
"We're planning to put this dog down in 24 hours."
"The white dog?"
"That's right."
"In that case, I'd like to adopt this dog, please."
"You just saved this dog's life."
The vet unlocked the cage and the dog went over to Annie sniffing her and then sitting down. Then Annie and the vet along with the dog took care of the necessary arrangements.
When they got to the receptionist, Annie paid to adopt the dog and then she left with the dog.
When they got to the station wagon, Annie had the dog go in the back seat. Then she got into the driver's seat, started the car, and drove out of the parking lot.
