OMG HI! Eeep im excited, this is my first fanfic ever and I'd just like to add, I am one of the biggest Alice in Wonderland fans ever so my stories are based on some pretty detailed, yet minor pieces of the franchise that are just minor things but bring the story to life. Like I said, very minor but it brings the stories to life for me. So on with the fanfic! (This story is based off a Cheshire Cat quote)

Piano Lessons

"Alice really you…no not that one either, here this one….oh dear you are almost completely hopeless." Strained a very frustrated Cheshire Cat.

"S-sorry Mr. Cheshire, maybe this note…" Alice stuttered, her fingers stumbling to find the right notes.

"No dear, that's quite enough for today thank you" Cheshire chuckled. "The weather seems to be more proper for…Alice what's the matter?"

Cheshire had glanced down at a sobbing Alice and could feel nothing but annoyed with a hint of remorse. He tried to think of something a little more helpful as he watched Alice plant her face into the ground just in front of his paws. Thus he realized the piano bench fell with her once he heard an "mph…" come from the girl soaking in her own tears.

"Oh come, come now dear" he comforted her by petting her beautiful auburn hair "it's not the end of the universe just because this instrument is not suited for you." He hoped his words soothing enough but knew she wasn't going to give in.

Alice looked up from the ground with tear-filled eyes and Cheshires' heart dropped. Even crying and whining like the child she was, she could calm a storm with her beauty. His head raged with ways for calming this one though.

"What instrument then? I'm not capable of the piano, nor the violin, nor the harp, nor any wood winds…I couldn't even save …" Alice spoke her thoughts out loud but was interrupted .

"Have you tried your own windpipe yet?" Asked the cat. Sure her voice wasn't the diamond in the rough, but it could make an adequate echo.

She looked at him with a somewhat surprised yet realizing expression on her face. She thought for a second about the continuation of her sentence and decided she'd rather not go there. Yet, she also didn't think that she was capable of melodies whatsoever, so what did her voice matter. As she stumbled in her thought Cheshire noticed and began to hum with that oh so soothing purr that came with his deep, melodious voice.

Alice finally rolled over on her back and listened to the lullaby illuminating from his throat. Cheshire was wearing thin listening to his melody, so he brushed from his head, down his back, unto Alices' head so she may rest on him. He knew he was lulling her to sleep but was still hoping she'd sing along.

After a few seconds she started to catch on and hum along. Her voice was almost just as soothing while harmonizing with her feline friend. She drifted to sleep though, thinking about how nice it would be if Cheshire was human and could reside with her in the real world. How famous he could be just by giving so much as a whisper of a tune. Though, by this time, she now appreciated the thought more than envied it. And with that they ended their day curled up in one another's gentlest embrace.
