Grey tory was just a normal guy like you and I. He was supposed to go to school but he didn't, He was sent to a facility to work with his dad on a teleporter. "Dad, Are you sure this is gonna work?" He asked his dad very concerned.
"Of course! Are you doubting my abilities son?" His dad said while screwing something in.
"No! No! Nothing like that I was just thinking about what happened to Maxis."
"Maxis is a fool." His dad said chuckling.
"Now that's true."
"Now Grey, Step in I want to see if this works."
He got in and felt a strange tingling feeling which he didn't like. He looked out and all he saw was black which meant the teleporter was working but something felt wrong. He felt dizzy and passed out. When he got woke up he noticed he had dog ears after that his dad disowned him and he was lost. He didn't have any family after his mom died, He lost his step sister in a village attack or so he was told, He still doesn't believe it. He knows she's still alive. He was ashamed of showing his ears cause he knew some people hated faunas so, he always wore a hood over his head to hid his ears and then he saw her redhead walking alone down the street he decided to walk up to her.
"Hey, miss?" She turns around and faces him eyes filled with sorrow. "Hey miss what are you doing out here alone?" he asked
"I can't find my sister," He could tell that she was about to break down.
"I'll help you look for her if you want me too."
"Yes please, We got to get back to beacon before professor Ozpin gets worried and mad," They continue to walk down the street
"Yang!" She Screamed but got no response. She looked at Grey and asked. "So, What brings you to Vale?"
"I wanted to get away from my old life. I'd rather not talk about it."
"If you don't want to that's fine. I just wanted to know." They heard a voice. Ruby recognized it. "Yang!?"
A yellow-haired girl came running up to the little girl.
"Ruby!" She came up and hugged her. 'So her names Ruby I should've guessed' he thought.
"I thought I lost you," said Yang.
"I thought I did too If it weren't for ummm-
"Grey," Grey said.
"If it weren't for Grey I wouldn't have found you."
"Well, thanks Grey for helping me reunite with my sister. Hey, you look like a fighter have you ever thought of joining Beacon?"
"I sent a request to beacon but never got a response. One day I will."
"Now's your chance to see if you got in," Yang said.
"Really?!"
"Sure, come on let's go," said Ruby, they all walk back to beacon with joy.
"So Grey where you from?" asked Yang.
"Oh, I'm from Mistral."
"Isn't that famous for its upper and lower class?"
"Yes, You could say that."
"Don't we have a mission there soon?" Yang asked.
"Yes, Don't know when though," Ruby said.
"Well okay but I'm warning you some people there are; crazy," Grey said.
"We've dealt with worse," Yang said. They reach beacon and walk inside.
"Ladies where have you been?" Ozpin asked.
"Oh well we uhhh well we- Ruby began but got cut off by Grey.
"Ruby was searching for Yang, So I saw her looking for her and I decided to help them get back,"
"Is that so?"
"Yes, sir," Ozpin looked at him. He knew who he was and not because of the request to join.
"Grey Tory, Son of Virgil and Alma Tory."
"You know who I am?"
"I know more people than you think. So, You'd like to join my school?"
"More than anything."
"Well, Consider it done. You'll be on your own for a while until we find you a team."
"Okay. Yes, sir!"
"Good, Ruby, Yang. Please get back to your team," Ruby and Yang nodded and ran to their dorm. "Grey, Follow me," Ozpin asked as he walked towards the tower of Beacon. "Do you recognize this?"
"It's a communication tower. It was built by Atlas to let the four kingdoms communicate to one another."
"Very good. How'd you know?"
"My stepsister taught me," Grey said looking down.
"Something seems wrong."
"Kinda, My Adoptive sister ran off somewhere without me. She did teach me everything I know about fighting; Except my semblance.."
"Your semblance?"
"I don't know what it is yet. She thought it was to get others semblance but she was wrong."
"You at least know about fighting don't you?"
"Yes, Hand to hand although not good at it and Shooting."
"Good, that's what I need," Grey looked at Ozpin.
"So, who am I staying with until I get a team?"
"Team RWBY," Greys eyes widened.
"You're telling me that I get to stay in the same room as a badass team?"
"I guess you're happy about that?"
"Yes!" Ozpin pulled out his scroll and sent a message to Ruby.
"Good, Cause you have 2 minutes to get to their dorm."
"I guess I should thank you."
"I guess you should get going. Your 2 minutes have started," Grey ran to their dorm as fast as he could. He got to the courtyard with 1 minute to go. 'You can do it, Grey! Just stay calm when you meet the rest. He ran into the dorm halls and stopped. 'Well, shit! Which one!' He picked the one on the left. He knocked on the door. The door opened to see Ruby. 'Thank God it's the right place'
"Grey! Come in!" Grey walked into the room and saw everyone. Blake peeked around the corner and saw Grey.
"Grey?" She asked. Grey was not pleased. He growled. He wanted to attack her but resisted. "Aaaand you're still mad at me."
"No shit I'm still mad!"
"It wasn't my fault. I had to get away!"
"And leave me alone!?"
"Grey..."
"No! You obviously don't care!"
"If I didn't care I wouldn't have taken you in after your sister died!" The rest of the team looked shocked as Grey and Blake butted heads. Weiss stepped in.
"Cut it out you two. We do not need a fight on his first day here."
"Blake, You two know each other?" Ruby asked.
"Yes, I took him in after his sister died." Yang looked at Grey and couldn't help but notice he still had his hood on.
"Why are you wearing your hood indoors?" Yang asked.
"No reason!" Grey said almost panicking.
"Grey, They already know about me. No need to hide. They're very accepting," Grey sighed and removed his hood. His faunus ears showed. German Shepard ears to be exact.
"Don't tell me. He also used to be in the White Fang?" Weiss asked.
"Fuck the White Fang!" Grey said.
"Does that give you an answer Weiss?" Ruby said.
"They killed everything I love. Everything I cared for. Gone. In the blink of an eye."
"You'll get your revenge Grey," Blake said.
"I fucking hope so."
"Guys, It's getting late," Yang said.
"We should go to sleep," Blake said. Grey looks over at Blake with a look she's seen before. "Yes," She said before fully looking at her brother.
"Thank you!" Blake got into her bed and so did Grey. Everyone else got into their beds and went to sleep.
At a White Fang warehouse
Emerald and Mercury were walking in after their mission.
"Did you guys get what I want?" Torchwick asked. Emerald handed him a suitcase filled with dust.
"We always do don't we?" She said smirking.
"Yes, you do," Cinder said walking into the room. Torchwick huffs. "Something wrong Roman?"
"No, Nothing's wrong."
"Good, We don't want to have problems, do we?" Cinder said walking off. Roman sighed.
"I guess not..."
