"I've already told you a million times, Raymond. I don't like wearing nail polish!" the short alien shouted.

"Please, Alanis?" Raymond asked. "I promise I will not mess it up. Just this one time…?"

Alanis sighed. "Fine. Just don't use any flashy colors."

The robot chuckled softly. "I knew I'd convince you eventually. Oh, don't worry about that. I think I have a color that might fit you perfectly. What do you think of…"

A compartment opened on his chest, out of which he pulled a small vial.

"...black? It reminds me of you a lot, you know."

Alanis' eyes practically twinkled. "It's awesome! Now that's a color I'd like to try on," they said, not being able to contain their excitement.

"Alright, just don't move while I apply it~!"

"...and then this guy just walked up to me during lunch break and asked me if I'd go out with him," said Alanis.

"Oh, my. What did you tell him?" Raymond asked, curious regarding the story his datefriend was telling.

"Well, 'I'm really sorry, dude, but I only go out with people I've known for long enough. Maybe some other day, though?' I'm still feeling pretty bad, but it's true. Maybe I'd know him better if we were classmates?" they answered.

The taller robot nodded. "I wholeheartedly agree. Aaaand it's done! What do you think?"

Alanis was speechless. "It's… amazing! There are no missed spots… every nail is evenly painted, I love it! Thank you so much, Ray!" they said, hugging Raymond and kissing his cheek.

"Be careful, dear! It's still drying, you're gonna smudge it!"

"Oh, right." Al sat back down, looking at their nails, now coated in black; some of them had their polish slightly warped by being accidentally touched.

Raymond shook his head. "Now I'll have to fix it up. But don't worry, I can do it. I already did it the first time, after all," he added with a wink.
