A gift from heaven
"Rei?"
"Do you think there is something like a God up there?"
The blond longhaired boy laying in the grass turned his head to look at the girl beside him.
Quizzically he studied her beautiful face before turning his gaze skywards.
"I don't know. I never thought about it."
He paused.
"I don't really care either. It's not like he'd done anything for me anyway."
He thought of Sei and how is life had been before he met Kira.
Meeting her changed everything.
Things started to matter to him.
But mostly he cared about her, what she thought of him.
He wanted to make sure that he never disappointed her.
Nobody should ever hurt her again.
He probably had been frowning because Kira looked at him worriedly.
"Is there something wrong?"
Rei shook his head and thought 'How could something be wrong when you're sitting beside me?'
Shifting closer to her he let his head rest in her lap.
Smiling up at her he reassured her.
"Nah, I just thought that there still might be a God up there."
"How come?"
"Cuz I think he sent me a great gift straight down from heaven."
Rei grinned at Kira as she blushed a light shade of pink.
He twirled some curls around his index finger and pulled her slowly towards him capturing her strawberry lips in a sweet kiss.
Kissing Kira Rei silently thanked God for sending him this beautiful angel.

There aren't many Mars fics out there and I'm happy it has its own category now. It's been pretty annoying to look through all the misc. fics to find something. Anyway please review. I'll write more soon.
